Higham (Higham etc). 1394. Indenture, by which William Riggedone of Higham (Hygham) agrees to serve Robert le Warnere of the same, as shepherd, for 10 years from Michaelmas, 18 Ric. II [1394], in return for a messuage, with 8 acres of land, lying in the vill and fields of Hygham, as described in a deed of enfeoffment drawn up for the said William, and Hugh Hory, by the said Robert, John Pykechese, and John Vmfray. If William fails to fulfil his contract, or dies before its expiration, he or his heirs shall pay to Robert, 13s. 4d., for each year following until the end of the term, or pain of forfeiture of the messuage etc. Dated, at Higham (Hygham), Sunday [25 Oct.] after the feast of St Luke the Evangelist, 18 Ric.
