Needham Street (Needham-Street etc). 1315. Grant from Robert le Fole of Kentford (Kenteford), miller, to Walter Priour of Needham Street (Nedham, in the parish of Gayslee), and Petronilla his wife, for certain sum of money, of two acres of arable land, in four parcels, lying at the upper end of the parish of Gazeley (Gayslee), in the field called Caremenecroftes, next to the land of Thomas Beyllard, one end abutting on the common heath, the other on the land of Gilbert Mariscal. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham), Monday [1 Dec.] before the feast of St Nicholas, bishop and confessor, 9 Edw. II [1315]. Witnesses: Walter Mercer, William Sperlyng, Gilbert Mariscal, Richard le Warner, Ralph (Townsend) 'ad caput ville', John Dersoun, Robert (Smith) 'Fabro' of Needham Street (Nedham), and others. The seal is wanting.
