Ledger, acknowledgment. York, Benedictine abbey of St. Mary. [temp. Ed. I] (1307). . Nine leaves from an old ledger book of the church of St. Mary, York (formerly in Hatton library), of which the last four, written by a second hand, are numbered by a 15th cent. hand, 55, 56, 59, 60, having several grants entered upon them, including: (l) Cyncius, parson of the church of Croft, acknowledges that he is bound to pay to the abbot and convent of St. Mary, York, £ [?] which they retain by name of a pension from the church of Croft, granted to him by the said abbot and convent, saving the tithes belonging to the priory of St. Martin, Richemund; saving also 10 marks' worth of corn of the tithes of the same church granted with his consent to master John de Hamerton for his life, and after the death or resignation of the said master John to revert to the said Cyncius.
