Grant from Robert le Warner of Higham (Heigsham, in the parish of Gayselee), to Thomas of Heigsham, jun., Walter, perpetual vicar of Cavenham (Kauenham), John Calwe (or Calwaue) of Barrow (Barwe), and John Sparkforde, called Spore of Bertone, next Mildenhall (Mildenhale), chaplain, of 3 roods of arable land in the crofts of Heighsham, by the lands of the said Thomas, abutting to the north, on the land of John Lote, and to the south on the land of John Aleyn; which 3 roods lately belonged to Alice, daughter of John Fysshe. Power of attorney from William Rykedoun of Cavenham to William Boltone to deliver to Thomas Godarde of Higham (Heigham), William Madour of the same, Walter Chapman of Needham Street (Nedham), and Thomas Keene of Gazeley (Gaysle), possession of a messuage, with 8 acres of arable land, in Heigham, lately held by the said Rukedoun in common with Hugh Hory of Higham (Heigham), now closed by the gift Robert le Warner of Higham (Heigham), John Pykchese of the same, and John Vmfray of Cavenham (Cauenham). Kentford. 1314. Grant from Thomas 'Syro' and Jueta his wife, of Needham Street (Nedham), to Walter Priour, Petronella his wife, and John their son, of two acres of arable land in Kenteforde called Schortelond, between the land of the prioress and convent of Marham and that required by the said Walter from the said Thomas and abutting on the meadow of the said Walter called Smalemedwe. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham), on Tuesday [12 Nov] after thefeast of St Martin, 8 Edw. II [1314]. Witnesses. Kentford. 1355. Grant from John Balle of Kentford (Kenteforde) to John Fyche of Higham (Heiham), and Alice his wife, of 6 acres of arable land in the fields of Kenteforde, between the land of the said John Balle, and that once held by Robert of Abbethorpe, and extending from the road called 'le Waterweye' to the common heath of Kenteforde and Needham Street (Nedham). Dated at Kentford (Kenteforde), Thursday the feast of the Ascension, 29 Ed. III [14 May, 1355] Witnesses: John Bunting, Edmund Bunting, John Hosteler, Alexander Sperlyng, John Gibbe, and others. Mendlesham (Mendlesham etc). 1205-1235. Grant from Geoffrey Dorliens and Agatha his wife, to John, son of Roger Prech, of two acres of land, called Orlienescroft, held of the house of Snape at a yearly rent 16d. The said John is to pay a yearly rent of 16d. and half a pound of pepper, at the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin, and to be responsible to the prior and monks of Snape for the rent due to them; and has done homage and paid a fine of 19s. of silver [1205-35] Witnesses. Mettingham (Mettingham ). 1414. Final agreement between William Bernham, clerk, John Gerarde, clerk, William Paston, Thomas Stodhaghe, and William Gerarde, plaintiffs, and William Lyouns, and Joan his wife, deforciants, by which the latter grant to the former 15 acres of land, 2 acres of meadow, 2 acres of pasture, and 3 shillings rent, in Metyngham and Ilketshall (Ilketeshale), for 20 marks of silver. Nayland. 1416. Final agreement between Henry Tomstone, vicar of Stokeneylonde, John Rysyng, John Chambre, and John Godynge, plaintiffs, and Thomas Mustarder, and Alice his wife, and Richard Wente, and Joan his wife, deforciants, by which the latter cede to the former 10 acres of land, an acre of alder-grove, with appurtenances in Neylonde, for 20 marks of silver. Grant from John Beuelers, of Needham Street (Nedham in the parish of Gaysile), to Beatrice his daughter, in consideration of a sum of money, of 6 acres of arable land in Nedham, 3 acres lying in the field called Wethercroft next to the land of the said John, and abutting thereon; 2 acres lying in Punchefeld, next tot he land of the lady 'Joyese' of Thelnetham, and abutting on the land of the said John; and 1 acre lying in Walkerescroft, next tot he land of Gilebert of Le Hay, and abutting on the land of Hugh (Smith) 'Fabri'. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham), Monday [1 Dec.] before the feast of St Nicholas, bishop and confessor, 9 Edw. II [1315]. Grant from Juliana, widow of Radulf 'ad caput ville' of Needham Street (Nedham) , to Walter Priour of the same, of 2.5 acres of arable land of which 2 acres lie in the crofts of Nedham in the west side, one at the upper end, lying between the land of Henry Pyle, and the fee of the Lady Cescilia Le Talemache, and abutting on a messuage once held by the said Radulf; which the half acre lies in Peinelnecroftis, on the east, between the land of Thomas Beylard of Kentford (Kenteford), bought from Walter le Marcer, and abutting on the messuage of John le Warner. Needham-Street (Gazeley). 1323. Grant from Walter Persoun of Needham Street (Nedham) in the parish of Gazeley (Gayslee), and Beatrice, his wife, to Walter Priour of the same, Petronilla his wife, and John their son, for a certain sum of money, of the homage and fealty of Walter Clynckebelle of the same, with his service of 9 d. a year, which he was wont to pay for tenements holden in the parish of Gayslee; viz. for a messuage in Nedham next to the messuage of Maud Clynckebelle; and for 1.5 acres of arable land, in two parcels, in a place called Clynckebellescroftes, both next tot he land of the said Maud. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham), on [19 June] Sunday before the feast of the Nativity of St John Baptist, 16 Edw. In a sum of money, of the homage of John de Boseo of Higham (Heyham), John Curteys and Maud Clynckebelle of Needham Street (Nedham), with their service of 12d. yearly from certain tenements holden of Walter Persoun, namely 4d. from one acre of arable land held by John de Bosco, in the field called Walkerescrofthel, next to the land of the prior of Stoke, held by John Walkefure in villenage, and abutting in Priour's land, and on the land of Robert (Smith) "Fabri", and 4d. for two pieces of arable land, held by Maud Clynckebelle, lying in the same place, next to the land of Walter le Mercer, and Robert (Smith) "Fabri", abutting on the messuage of the said Maud, and on the land of the prior of Stoke. Grant from Walter Persoun of Needham Street (Nedham) to Walter Priour of Gazeley (Gayslee), Petronilla his wife, and John their son, of a piece of arable land, in the croft of the said Walter persoun, and next to the land of the said Walter Priour with one and abutting on the land of the prior and convent of Stokes and in width one perch. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham), on Monday the feast of St Thomas Apostle, 1 Edw. Needham Street (Needham-Street). 1328. Release from Agnes, widow of Thomas Sperlyng, of Needham Street (Nedham in the parish of Gayslee) , to William le Vacher of Cauenham, and Alice his sister, of her rights in a messuage in Nedham, with which her husband enfeoffed the said William and Alice. Dated, at Needham Street (Nedham) on Saturday [23 July], the morrow of St Mary Magdalen, 2 Ed. III [1328] The seal is wanting.

Needham Street (Needham-Street). 1338. Bond from John Aumener of Needham Street (Nedham) to Thomas Nichole of the same, undertaking for himself and his wife Joan, to pay to Thomas 40 shillings in the event of his being disppossessed, by writ at the plea of the said Joan, of 2.5 acres of land, wherewith John has enfeoffed him. Dated, at Needham Street (Nedham) on Friday [18 Sept.] after the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 12 Ed. III [1338]

Release from Margery Andrew of Moulton (Multone), to Thomas Nichole of Nedham, of her right in half an acre of land lying in Nedham, Benethen, Nedham Melne, next to the copyhold of Dom. William Talmache, and abutting on the common heath. Dated at Nedham on Saturday, the feast of the Holy Innocents, 22 Ed. William of Claptone, with one end abutting on the land of Robert Berkelowe; two acres lie at Walkerescroftes next to the land of Dom. William Talemache, with one end abutting on 'le Waterweye'; and one acre lies in the same field next to the land of Alexander Sperlynge, also abutting on 'le Waterweye'. Dated at Needham Street (Nedham) on Sunday before the feast of the Exaltation of the holy Cross, 35 Edw. III [12 Sept., 1361]

Release from William Farewelle, parson of Great and Little Chesterford (Chesterforde [Essex]), Richard Smythe, parson of Suthrleye [Lincoln], William Parkere, parson of the church of Llanwenarth (Llanwaynarde [Monmouth]), and John Freberne of Fulbourn (Fulburne [Cambridge]), jun., to Thomas Persone of Nedham, and Margaret his wife, of all lands, tenements, etc. claimed by the said grantors in Needham Street (Nedham), Kentford (Kenteforde), and Higham (Heigham), which they had from Thomas of Heigham, and which once belonged to William [mutilation] Dated at Needham Street (Nedham) on Monday the feast of St Edmund, King, 9 Ric. Otley. 1416. Final agreement, between William Piers of Otley (Ottele), plaintiff, and John Potter of Blakesley (Blakesle co. Northampton), and Margaret his wife, deforciants, by which the latter cede to the former, 2 tofts, 50 acres of land, 2 acres of wood, and 36 shillings rent, in Helmingham (Helmyngham), Cretingham (Gretyngham), Brandeston (Braunston), Framsden (Frammesdene), and Monewden (Mondene), for 40 marks of silver. Completed within a month of Easter, 4 Hen. V [19 April, 1416] before Norton J.C.P.

Stanstead. 1396-1397. Final agreement between John Pylkyngtone, 'chiualer', and Margaret his wife, plaintiffs, and Ralph Rokyngham, deforciant, by which the latter grants to the former the reversion of the manor of Stanstead (Stanstede), held in life by Edward Noon, 'chiualer', and Isabel his wife, for 100 marks of silver. Completed on the octave [9 Feb] of the Purification of the B.[V.]M. 20 [Ric. II] before Thirnynge J.C.P. [1396-1397]

Stonham Aspal (Stonham Aspall). 1409. Final agreement between Edmund Throp, kt., and Joan his wife, plaintiffs, and John Spenser and Katherine his wife, deforciants, by which teh latter cede to the former the manor of Aspall Stonham (Stonham Aspalle, otherwise known as Stonham Antegayn), and the advowson of Stonham Antegayn, for 200 marks of silver. Completed within a month of Easter, 10 H[enry IV] [7 April, 1409] before Thrinyng J.C.P.

Aldeburgh, Hazlewood (Haselwood). 1331. Fine and recovery by which John Frere conveys to Clemeneia of Londham a messuage, 32 acres of land and 3.5 acres of meadow with appurtenances, in Aldeburgh and Haselwode, to be held by the said John of the said Clemeneia, for life, and after the death of the said John to revert to the said Clemeneia and her heirs, rendering yearly a rose on St John the Baptists day.
