Barrow. 1333. Grant from Thomas le Warde of Barrow (Barewe), to Ada in Magard and Margery Magard of Barrow (Barewe), for a sum of money, of all his lands and tenements in the vill of Barrow (Barewe) and the reversion of the dower of his mother Alice, widow of Walter le Warde, after her death. Dated at Barrow (Barewe) on Sunday [June 20] before the feast of the nativity of St John Baptist. 7 Ed. III [1333]. Witnesses: Asbert of Mundeforede, John Norman, John Josekyn, Adam 'Dodo' [?Dede], William Calle, Alexander Scot, John le Melnere, and of hers. The seal is wanting.
Barrow. 1379. Grant from John Lelye of Barrow (Barewe) and Clare his wife, to John Langele of the same vill, a messuage with 3 roods of land, the messuage of lying between the tenements of John Calwe, and John Langle, and abutting at one and on the street called Paynisthorp, and at the other in the [curtilage(?)] of John Langele, while the land is situated in the field called Cokerode, in front of the land of the lord of that vill, abutting at one end, on Scharisbregge, and, at the other, on land of John Calue, tailor. Dated at Barrow (Barewe) on Monday [Nov. 7] after the feast of All Saints', 3 Ric. II [1379]. Witnesses: Richard Meriel, John Pricke, John Warde, John Dehene, Simon Warner, and of hers. Barrow. 1386. Grant from John Muryel of Barrow (Barwe), 'bocher, to Thomas of Highham, John Calwe, Robert Warner, and John, vicar of Gazeley (Gayesle), of 2 acres of land in Brokholecroft, in the territory of Barwe, next tot he land of the Earl of Stafford, abutting thereon. Dated at Barrow (Barwe), April 9, 9 Ric. II [1386] Witnesses: Symon Warner, John le Boys, John Hamond, John le Warde, Richard del Hachche, and others. The seal is wanting.
Barrow. 1386. Indenture by which John Muryel, 'bocher', of Barrow (Barwe), grants to Thomas of Heghham, John Calwe, Robert Warner, and John, vicar of Gazeley (Gayesle), 2 acres of land in Brokholecroft, reserving to himself the right of redemption for 20s., at the feast of St Peter ad Vincula, next ensuing. Dated, at Barrow (Barwe), 9 April, 9 Ric. II [1386] The seal is wanting.
Bedingfield etc. 1313. Final agreement between John of Gislyngham, and Alianor, his wife, plaintiffs, and Ralph, son of John of Tendrynge, 'chinaler', and Richard le Spenser of Thorndon (Thornedoun), deforciants, by which the latter grant to the former, nine messuages, a toft, 220 acres of land, 13 acres of meadow, 23.5 acres of pasture, 70 acres of wood, and 36 shillings rent, in Bedingfield (Bedyngfelde), Rishangles, Aspall (Aspale), Gislingham (Gislyngham), and Hempnall Hall (Thornham Pilcoke), for themselves and their direct heirs, with remainder to William of Gislyngham, for life, and then to other heirs of the said John. Completed, within 3 weeks of Easter [April 12], 23 Ed. III [1349]. John and Alianora being represented by John Waryn, Ralph and Richard by John Northwelde. Enrolled in Trinity term: Kell[shull] J.C.P.
Capel St Mary (Capel St. Mary). 1416. Final agreement between John Fitz Rauff, esq., plaintiff, and William Raynforthe and Alianora his wife, deforciants, by which the latter cede to John, the manor called Churchford Hall (Chirchefordhalle in Capelle), for 100 marks of silver. Completed, within a month of Easter [April 19], 4 Hen. V [1416].
Cavenham. 1397. Grant from Thomas Heyham, jun., to Walter, vicar of Cavenham (Cauenham), Robert le Warner, and John Calwe, of lands and tenements, once held by his mother Maud in Cauenham, called Dom. John Andreu's. Dated at Cavenham (Cauenham) on Monday [Sept. 24] after the feast of St Matthew Apostle, 21 Ric. II [1397]. Witnesses: John Atte Lane, Walter Hekedoun, John Jekeman, Richard Cappe, John Sybryt, and others. The seal is wanting.
Denham. 1384-1385. Release from Robert Crulle, rector of Stepney (Stebenhethe [Stepney]) and Thomas of Bartone to John Vfforde, vicar of Dagenham (Daggenham), of their right in the manor of Denham (Denham, near Bargwe [Barrow], co. Suffolk). Dated on Monday (Jan. 9) after the feast of the Epiphany 8 Rich. II [1384-1385]. The 2 seals are wanting.
Denham. 1384-1385. Release from Thomas Middeltone, rector of Hackney (Hakeneye), to John Vfforde, vicar of Dagenham (Daggenham), of his rights in the manor of Denham (Denham near Bargwe). Dated. 28 Feb, 8 Rich. II (1384-1385). The seal is wanting.
Exning. 1511-1512. Lease from William Thomson of Exning (Ixnynge), Henry Michelle, Nicholas Arundelle, and William Garnet, of the same, to Leonard Colton', clerk, John Heigham, Edmund Lee, and Henry Pope, of a messuage with croft adjoining, in the vill of Ixnynge, between the messuage and croft of William Cowper, on the north, and that late of Thomas Colton', esq., on the south, one end abutting on the water-course, and another on the highway: which they held by leade from John Hore of Exning (Ixnynge), Henry Mason', William Michelle, John Fabyan', by charter dated 21 March, 15 Hen. VII [1499-1500]. The said Leonard etc. to hold the messuage and croft to the use of John Colton, gent., and Alice Jerkeys, and their heirs. Dated, at Exning (Ixnynge), 27 January, 3 Hen. VIII [1511-1512]. The four seals are wanting.
Framlingham. 1414. Final agreement between Richard Bokelande, plaintiff, and John Petman and Margaret his wife, and John Stayntone, deforciants, by which the plaintiffs grants to the said John and Margaret for life, with remainder to John Staynton and Joan his wife, daughter of John Petman, and their heirs, a messuage 27 acres of land and 2 acres of meadow in Framlyngham. Dated the Octave [Nov. 18] of St Martin, 2 Hen. V [1414]: before Nortone J.C.P.
Freckenham. 1334. Final agreement between William Brotyn of Freckenham (Frekenham), and Beatrice his wife, plaintiffs, by John of Ernestede, appearing for the said Beatrice, and Walter of Clare, parson of Ousden (Ounesdene), and Robert of Asshefelde, chaplain, deforciants, by which the latter surrender to the said William and Beatrice, a messuage, with 300 acres of land, 8 acres of meadow, and a yearly rent of 8s., with a pound of cummin, in Frekenham and Worlington (Wrydelingtone). Completed on the octave [6 Oct.] of St Michael, 8 [Edw. III?, 1334]: a day was given them on the morrow of All Souls', William appearing by [mutilated] Ryuel, and Walter and Robert by Henry of Lyueremere.
Frostenden. 1418. Final agreement between Christiana, widow of Drugo Barantynes, William Porter, knight, John Beanson, knight, Roger [Joye?], John Burgoyne, William Loksmyths, John Rynelle, plaintiffs, and John Wissyngsete, deforciant, by which the latter cedes to Christiana, for her life, with remainder to the other plaintiffs, and the heirs of William Porter, a third part of the manor of Frostenden, with the advowson of the same, for 100 marks of silver. Completed, within 3 weeks of St Michael, 6 Hen. V [1418], before Preston J.C.P.
Gazeley. 1272. Lease from William Tillop and his wife to Alexander Bateman, for one mark, paid as fine, of 3 half-acres of arable land in the vill of Gaysle, lying in the field called Wetecrofte, between the lands of Dom. William le Bowle and Walter, son of the late Alexander (Taylor) of Gazeley (Gaysle) , and abutting on the fee of Multone, and on the land of the prior of Stochis; rendering yearly 1 lb. of wax at Christmas to the church of Gaysle, and 1/2 lb. to the church of Kentford (Kentefords), and 3 d. to the canons of Teford, 1.5 d. at Michaelmas, and 1.5 d. at Easter. Dated, 57 Hen. III [between 28 Oct. and 16 Nov. 1272]. Witnesses: John le Beuelere, Walter the Clerck, William Warin, Hugh le Warnir, Robert Passelewe, Robert de Bosco, and many others. The two seals are wanting.
Gazeley. 1299. Grant from William Sperling of Needham Street (Nedham) to John Fiss and Sarra his wife, for a certain sum of money, of an acre of arable land called "le Doune" in the fields of Higham (Heyham), of which half an acre lies between the land late of Alan (the Reaper) 'Messor' and that of John Aleyn abutting on 'le Feldwoye' [sic] and on the land of the abbot of St Osilth; and the other half acre between the lands of Ralph le Neweman and Richard Proudfot. Dated at Gazeley (Gaysle) on Friday (9 Oct) after the feast of St Faith Virgin 27 Edward I (1299). Witnesses. Gazeley. 1315. Grant from Robert le Waleys of Higham (Heyham) to John Fyhs[sic] and Sarra his wife and William their son, for a certain sum of money, of an acre of arable land in the parish of Gaisle in a field called "le Doune" between the lands of Hugh le Couherde and Margery le Heyward, abutting on the lands of Thomas Egeline of the said John Fyhs. Dated at Higham (Heyham) on Tuesday [27 May] after the feast of St Augustine of the English. 8 Edw. II (1315). Witnesses. Thomas Passeleu, Walter de Saham, Thomas son of Thomas, Roger Robbe, Albric the Clark and others. The seal is wanting.
Gazeley. 1365. Grant from Henry ate Fen of Gaislee, to John Ikedy, chaplain, Walter the clerck, and John Fyche, of all his lands, tenements and rights of pasture and foldage, in the vills of Gaislee, Needham Street (Nedham by Gaislee), Kentford (Kenteforde), Moulton (Multone), and Monk Soham (Daham [Saham]). Dated at Gaisle on Friday [12 Sept.] before the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 39 Ed. III [1365]. Witnesses: John Bunting, Edmund Bunting, John ate Howe, James Mose, John Mose, and others. The seal is wanting.
Gazeley. 1381. Release from Christiana, widow of William Brochslan of Clare to Robert of Kedytone, Richard Perfey, and Geoffrey Brochole, of her right in the lands and tenements formerly in the possession of the said William, John Talmage and Agnes Nichole, in the vills and fields of Needham Street (Nedham), Gayslee, Kentford (Kenteforde), Kennett (Kenyt), and Moulton (Multone). Dated at Clare on Sunday [22 Dec.] after the feast of St Thomas Apostle, 5 Richard II [1381]. Endorsed. "Nicoles in Nedham." The seal is wanting.
Gunton. 1414. Final agreement between Robert Palgraw and Margaret his wife, plaintiffs, and Thomas Kempstone, deforciant, by which the latter grants to the former the manor of Gunton Score (Gunton), the advowson of Guntone, with 14 acres of land, 1 acre of meadow, 3 acres of heath, and 32d. rent in Guntone, Oulton (Oltone), and Corton (Cortone), the property to descend to the male heirs of the said Robert, with remainder to his other heirs. Completed, within 3 weeks of St Michael, 2 Hen. V [1414] and enrolled.
Higham. 1297. Grant from Roger of Chippelege of Higham (Heyham, in the parish of Gaysle), to Roger son of John of Nedham, miller of 12d. rent, which he used to pay for a piece of land with messuage adjoining, in Heyham, between the lands of John Crowe and Roger of Chippelege, abutting at one end on the land of Roger of Chippelege, and at the other on the highway. Dated Sunday [15 Dec.] after the feast of St Lucy, 26 Ed. I [1297]. Witnesses: Thomas Passelewe, Robert Passelewe, Walter de Lakersoner, Walter of Saham, Henry of Beuelers, Robert du Boyes, Simon the clerk, and many others. The seal is wanting.
Higham (Higham etc). 1313. Grant from John Bole of Higham (Heyham) to John Fyzs and Sara his wife, for a sum of money, of two half-acres of arable land, in the field of Heyham, one half-acre lying between the lands of John Wayssepail and Humfrey of Palegrue, and abutting on the lands of Thomas of Passelewe, and Roger Aleyn, the other half-acre lying between the lands of John Wayssepail and John Wayssepail, jun., and abutting on the land of Humfrey of Palegraue, and on 'le fyldeweye'. Dated at Higham (Heyham), Sunday [16 Dec.] next after the feast of St Lucy, Virgin, 7 Ed. II [1313]. Witnesses: Thomas, son of Thomas, Roger Robbe, Robert Passelewe, Walter of Saham, Walter la Kersonere of Gaysle, Thomas (Smith) 'Fabro' of the same, Robert 'Clerico'(?) of the same, and others. Grant from Walter of Saham, of the parish of Higham (Gaysle) to John Fyss of Higham (Heyham) and Sarra his wife, for a sum of money, of an acre of arable land in the fields of Heyham, lying between the land of Adam (the shepherd) 'Bercar' and that of Walter le Fader, and abutting on the high road, towards the field called Walhepes, and on the heath called 'le Schottehetz'. Dated at Higham (Heyham) on Thursday [14 March] after the feast of St Gregory, Pope. 7 Edw. II [1313-1314.] Witnesses. Grant from Richard (the Cowherd) 'dictus Vaccarius' of Higham (Heyham), and Margery his wife, to John Fyhs, and Sarra his wife, for a certain sum of money, of a piece of arable land in the field of Heyham, called Clynekebellecrofte, between the lands of the said Richard and the said John, abutting at one end, on the land of the said John, and at the other, on the messuage of Peter Treiaumbe: with a rood of arable land in the croft of the said Richard, between his land and that of the said John, abutting, at one end, on the said Richard's messuage, and, at the other, on the highway from Kenteforde to [Bury] St Edmund's. Dated at Higham (Heyham), Sunday [19 Jan.], after the feast of St Hilary, 8 Ed. II [1314-1315].
