Indenture made between (1) Thomas Legh of Ridge Hall in Sutton, Cheshire, esq., and Susannah his wife, the only sister and heir of William Gregg late of Alkeston, Derbyshire, gent., and John Calvert of Beely, Derbyshire, gent., and (2) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, being a bargain and sale by (1) to (2) of a coppice in the parish of Fareham, Hampshire (endorsed: 'Lease for a yeare Int[er] Legh & ux[or] & Gardiner 21 February 1692 [/3].

Agreement. Roche Court (Hampshire). 8 William III. Mar. 18, 1697. Indenture made between (1) Hugh Chamberlaine of St Clement Danes, Middlesex, doctor in Physick, and (2) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Rochcourt, Hampshire, baronet, reciting a deed of 6 December 1666 made between Francis Gregg and Elizabeth Walden, being a bargain and sale for 99 years of lands in North Fareham, Hampshire, parcel of the manor of Roche Court, Hampshire, from which a dispute arose between Hugh Chamberlaine and Sir Brocas Walden after the death of Elizabeth Walden, being an agreement that Sir Brocas Gardiner should have possession of the property (endorsed: Indenture of Covenante and Agreement between Sir Brocas Gardiner and Doctor Chamberlaine Martii 18o 1695 [/6], although the document is dated in the 8th regnal year of William III, perhaps in error for the 9th regnal year, 1697).

Indenture made between (1) Thomas Legh of Ridge Hall in Sutton, Cheshire, esq., and Susanna his wife, and Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) George Bellamy of Gosport, Hampshire, gent., being a bargain and sale with feoffment by (1) to (2) of a messuage in North Fareham, Hampshire, and lands [details given], parcel of the manor of North Fareham alias Roche Court, Hampshire.

Assignment of terms of years . Roche Court (Hampshire). 10 William III. Jun. 20, 1699. Indenture made between (1) Hugh Chamberlen of St Clement Danes, Middlesex, doctor in Physick, Thomas Bromfeild of the Inner Temple, London, gent., and Christopher Davenport of New Inne, Middlesex, gent., and (2) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and Robert Southam of London, gent., reciting several deeds including a bargain and sale for 85 years dated 25 October 1678 to Thomas Singleton of a messuage in North Fareham, and lands [details given], parcel of the manor of Roche Court, Hampshire, being an assignment of terms by Christopher Davenport by direction of the other parties in (1) and at the nomination of Sir Brocas Gardiner, to Robert Southam of the property (dated 20 June 1698 in the tenth regnal year of William III, which is perhaps in error for the eleventh year, 1699).

Indenture tripartite made between (1) Thomas Legh of Ridge, Cheshire, esq., and Susanna his wife, only daughter of Francis Gregg of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, gent., deceased, and sister and sole administratrix of William Gregg of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, only son of Francis Gregg; (2) Mary Gregg of St Andrew Holborn, Middlesex, widow, Thomas Gregg and Joseph Gregg of Clements Inn, Middlesex, gents., Benjamin Gregg of the Middle Temple, London, gent., and Francis Gregg of Clements Inn, Middlesex, gent, executors of the last will and testament of Thomas Gregg, citizen and Pewterer of London, gent., and (3) Thomas Harris of St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex, gent., and Robert Southam of the Inner Temple, London, gent., reciting a deed dated 1 August 1664 an assignment of a term of years to various parties including Thomas Gregg, deceased, of the messuage known as Roch Court and lands, Hampshire, in trust for Francis Gregg, deceased, and being an assignment by (1) to (3) of the property (endorsed: 'Assignement from Legh & al[iis] to Harris & Southam. 5o July 1693').

Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Francis Antram of Catisfeild in the parish of Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 15 years by (1) to (2) of the manor house of Roche Court, and lands [details given] (endorsed: 'Antrams Lease 29 Decr 1698 15 years 1713 No. 6').

Indenture made between (1) Thomas Bromfeild of the Inner Temple, London, gent.,and Christopher Davenport of New Inn, Middlesex, esq., and (2) Hugh Chamberlen of St Clement Danes, Middlesex, esq.,reciting a deed of 16 December 1684, which itself recited a lease dated 25 October 30 Chas. II, 1678, made by Chamberlen as executor of Elizabeth Walden to Thomas Singleton of a messuage in North Faraham, Hampshire, and lands [details given], parcel of the manor of Roch Court, being an assignment of the residue of a term of 99 in the same property by (1) and (2) to (3) and (4), and being an assignment by (1) to (2)of the property in trust.

Indenture made between (1) Henry Wilkes of Newland in the parish of Titchfeild, Hampshire, yeoman, and Mary his wife, and (2) Richard Callaway of Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a release by (1) to (2) of the Red Lion Inn, and land in Fareham (endorsed: '24th March 1701. Deeds of the Red Lyon Inn. No. 1').

Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Thomas Gover of the parish of Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 15 years by (1) to (2) of lands in the manor of Roche Court, Hampshire [details given] (endorsed: 'Gover. 20 Sepr 1703 for 15 years. 15/1718. No. 7') (counterpart of MS. D. D. Brocas 277).

Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Thomas Gover of the parish of Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 15 years by (1) to (2) of lands in the manor of Roche Court, Hampshire [details given] (endorsed: 'Govers Lease') (see MS. Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Robert Adams of the parish of Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 11 years by (1) to (2) of a messuage and lands in the manor of Roche Court and for 1 year, of copyhold premises in the manor [details given]. Sealed by Robert Adams, who made his mark. Endorsed with an indenture dated 11 August 11 Geo. I [1724] , made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Thomas Gover of North Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 1 year and 7 years of property formerly leased to Robert Adams (signed and sealed by Thomas Govar).

Lease. Roche Court (Hampshire). 1 Geo. I. Sep. 30, 1714 and 11 Geo. I. Aug. 18, 1724. Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Thomas Gover of North Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 11 years by (1) to (2) of freehold lands in the manor of Roche Court, Hampshire [details given], and for 1 year of copyhold premises in the manor (endorsed: Gover 30 Sept 1714. 11/1724. 18 Augt 1725 7 years/1732). A further lease of the property to Gover dated 11 August 11 Geo. I, 1724 and signed and sealed by him is attached.

Indenture made between (1) William Russell of Wickham, Hampshire, esq., Jonathan Rashleigh of London, merchant, and Joseph Harvey of London, gent., and (2) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, being a lease for 1 year by (1) to (2) of lands in the parish of Fareham, Hampshire [details given] (endorsed: '3d July 1716. Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Thomas Govar of North Fareham, Hampshire, husbandman, being a lease for 7 years by (1) to (2) of lands in the manor of Roche Court, Hampshire [details given], and for 1 year of copyhold premises in the manor (endorsed: 'Gover. 1725. 18 August 1725. 7 years/1732. No. 10') (with many amendments to names of tenants, places and amounts of money).

Indenture made between (1) Richard Callaway of Fareham, Hampshire, Innholder, and (2) Robert Stares of Curdridge in the parish of Bishops Waltham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a mortgage by (1) to (2) of £200 concerning to the Red Lion Inn, Fareham, Hampshire, and lands there [details given] (endorsed: 'Mr Richd Callaway to Mr Rob Stares } Mortgage for £200. Date 28th Apr 1729. No. 4').

Lease. Roche Court (Hampshire). 8 Geo. II. Sep. 3, 1734. Indenture made between (1) Sir Brocas Gardiner of Roch Court, Hampshire, baronet, and (2) Thomas Govar of North Fareham, Hampshire, yeoman, being a lease for 7 years of freehold lands in the manor of North Fareham alias Roche Court [details given], and one year during the residue of the 7 year of copyhold lands there (endorsed: 1734. Thomas Gover. Roch Court ?&c') (found inside: a small white envelope sealed with a red wax armorial applied seal).

Indenture made between (1) Robert Stares of Curdridge in the parish of Bishops Waltham, Hampshire, yeoman; (2) Richard Callaway of Fareham, Hampshire, Innholder, and (3) John Cawte of Titchfield, Hampshire, gent., reciting the mortgage by (2) to (1) dated 28 April 1729, being an assignment of that mortgage by (1) to (3) concerning to the Red Lion Inn, Fareham, Hampshire, and lands there [details given] (endorsed: 'Mr Stares to Mr Cawte } Assignment of Mr Callaway's mortgage for £200 & Interest at the rate of 5 per cent.
