Indenture by which Robert Rolfe of Grey's Inne, Middlesex, gent., son and heir of Roger Rolfe of Hadleigh (Hadley), deceased, approves and ratifies to Thomas Atkinson of Hadleigh (Hadley) all right and title to a capital mansion, &c. in Hadleigh (Hadley), which the said Thomas purchased of him and Edward Colman of Great Waldingfield. Dated 28 October, 24 Elizabeth (1582).

HAVERHILL, &o. Thomas Master, clerk, rector of Somerleyton (Somerleton), and Roger Page of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), grant to John Aleyn and 26 others the whole of the messuage in which the father of the said Thomas lately dwelt, with all the lands, &c. to the same messuage pertaining, also all the lands formerly John Kelyng's, also the lands of John Payne which were afterwards the said Thomas Master's in the villages and fields of Haverhill, Kedington (Kedyngton), Little Wratting, and Helions Bumpstead (Bumpsted Helyon), in the counties of Suffolk and Essex. Dated at Haverhill, 21 March, 13 Hen. VII (1498).

Thomas Master, rector of Somerleyton, and Roger Page of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), executors of the will of Thomas Master, late of Haverhill, recite the last will (dated 4 November, 1473) of the said Thomas Master, father of Thomas Master, rector of Somerleyton. Dated at Haverhill, 21 March, 13 Hen. VII (1498).

HOLBROOK. William Sprot of Holbrook (Holebac) grants to Robert le Sponere of Holbrook (Holebac) for 20s. one piece of land and one piece of herbage in Creeting St Peter (Stepelcreting). (c. 1250-60.) [A small part effaced.]

HORHAM and STONHAM. Sir John Hevenyngham, kt., William Darell of Kent and three others demise to John Jernegan of Somerleyton (Somerleton), esq. and Agnes his wife all their manors, lands, and tenements in the villages of Horham and Stonham, and the advowsons of the churches of Horham, Stonham, and Bradwell. Dated at Horham (H[orham]).... before feast of the Invention of the Cross, 23 Hen. VI.

John, son and heir of Edward Jernegan, esq., grants to Robert Drury, William Waldegrave, and others his manors of Horham Jernegan's (Little Horham), Little Stonham (Stonham Jernegan), Newton, Corton (Gorton), and Lound (Lownde), with other lands, to the use of Bridget Jernegan, wife of John, for her life. Dated 10 May, 13 Hen. VIII (1521).

HUNSTON. Richard Appulton, son of Thomas Appulton, grants to William Appulton, son of the said Thomas, and others, his manor of Hunston Hall (Hunstanhall) in ... Dated at Hunston ... 12 January, 1 Hen. VIII (1510). [Partly illegible.]

ICKLINGHAM. Indenture between king Henry VIII and George Rowse reciting an indenture dated 18 October, 30 Hen. VIII (1538), from the abbot and convent of Bury St. Edmund, of a lease of the manor of Icklingham with members (Iklyngham), co. Suffolk, for 60 years, at an annual rent of £24, which said lease is surrendered, and another, by the present indenture, granted for 21 years at the same rent. Dated 12 December, 31 Hen. VIII (1539). [With seal of Augmentation Office, broken.]

⟨Bramfield (?)⟩ Cristiana, formerly wife of Hubert Mory of Bramfield (Branfeld) , grants to Costentine Skeith of Ipswich, for half a mark all her right in a piece of meadow, which she has in the name of dowry of Hubert her husband. (c. 1280-90.)

An order of Thomas, earl of Dorset, admiral of England, Guyenne (Guienne), and Ireland, to Saundre Scot, master of the Mary of Epesvviche , to receive on board and carry into England Guy Corbet and Robert White, esqs., with 10 of their attendants. Dated at Bordeaux (Burdeux), 5 January, 14 Hen. IV (1413).

Indenture made 16 July, 4 Elizabeth (1562), reciting the bequest of Henry Tooley, and the surrender to the mayor and corporation of Ipswich, of the lands, &c. given for the foundation of an hospital at Ipswich. [3.5 sheets; mutilated.]

Bond in £200 given by Humphrey Seckford of Ipswich, gent., to William Cornwallis, esq., dated 34 Eliz. [1592] for payment of £100 on 14 Oct., 14 Oct. 1593.

IXNING. Indenture made between Laurence Abbot, citizen and mercer of London, on the one part, and Walter Cotton, citizen and mercer of London, and Richard Sturgeon of the other part, reciting a bond of the 16th November, 15 Hen. VI, in £2000. [Much rubbed and partly illegible.] Dated 20 November, 15 Henry VI (1436).

KENTON. Francis Colby of Kenton, esq., remits and quit-claims to Nicholas Garneys of Little Redisham (Little Reddesham), and Charles Garneys his son, all his right to the whole of a mansion called Kenton (Kenton Hall in the parish of Kenton). Dated 27 March, 44 Elizabeth (1602).
