Robert de Ingelose, lord of Ashby (Askeby), grants to Simon de Beltone a free common of communication and feeding for all his beasts of Lound, in Ashby (Askeby), as the freemen of the said village have. (c. 1280-90.)

Roger Skarlet, chaplain, grants to John Thurberne, chaplain, Will Dareys of Lound, and Roger Primour of the same, all his messuages, lauds, and tenements in the villages of Ashby (Askeby) and Lound. Dated at Ashby (Askeby) the Monday next after the feast of SS. Simon and Jude, 3 Hen. IV.

Henry Boyton of .... grants to Roger Prymowr of Lound one piece of land lying in the village of Ashby (Askeby). Dated at Lound on the vigil of the Epiphany, 13 Hen. IV.

John Manne, William Palmer, Robert Candler, Richard Watson, and Robert Swanne grant to John Jernegan, William Drury, Robert Drury, and John Appylton two pieces of arable land lying in a certain field called Wykerfeld in Ashby (Asshby), co. Suffolk, in exchange for four pieces of land in Lound, co. Suffolk. Dated at Ashby (Asshby), 20 January, 24 Hen. VIII (1533).

John Jernegan, knt., grants to sir Thomas Bedyngfeld, kt., and others, his manor, lands, rents, &c. in Ashby (Asshby), Lound, and Herringfleet (Heryngfleete), in accordance with a marriage settlement dated 20 March, 25 Hen. VIII (1534), by which his son George is contracted in marriage to Ela, daughter of John Spelman, knt.. Dated 8 Sept., 26 Hen. VIII (1534).

Indenture dated 4 Oct., 33 Elizabeth (1591), by which John Wentworth of Somerleyton, gent., demises to Thomazen Cowper of Ashby (Asheby) his fish-house in Ashby and his two ponds on the east part of the said house, and also a certain whorde called the old whorde belonging to the manor of Ashby, and the waters in Ashby (Asheby), Herringfleet (Heringflete), and Lound, for 10 years, for specified large quantities of fish, or else at an annual rent of 46s. 8d.

LOUND. Alice de Lund, daughter of Ralph de Pesehale, grants to Robert, son of Edstan de Caldecotes (Caldecot near Fritton, Suffolk?), ten acres and half a rood of land in Lound (Lund) some near the way as you go from Lund to Rotepet towards the east, some in Kirkefurlong, some near the way going from the monastery of Lund in Boyton to the north, etc.; paying annually 12d., and giving now two bisants. (c. 1190-1200.)

SUFFOLK. Geoffrey, son of sir John de Askeby, grants to Margery and Emma, daughters of the said Geoffrey, certain land in the fields of Lound (Lund). (c. 1270-80.)

Henry, son of Warin de Lond, grants to John de Droxton of Somerleyton (Somerleton) three acres of land in the village of Lound (Lond). Dated at Lound (Lond) the Friday on the feast os St. [Potentiana?] the virgin, 3 Ed. [III].

John, son of Robert de Lund, grants to Joan and Christiana, daughters of Margery Habreham of Kirk..te, two parts of one messuage with one house built upon it in Lound (Lund). Also he grants to Margaret, daughter of the said Margery, the third part of the said messuage with a smaller house. Dated at Lound (Lund), 14 Ed. II (no day).

Richard, son of Alam Elflot of Lound (Lund) , grants to William Poer de Flixton St Andrew (Flixton), son of Walter de Flixton, two acres and one rood of arable land in Lound (Lund). Dated at Lound (Lund) the Thursday next before the feast of St. Peter, 6 Ed. III.

Henry, son of Edmund Poyer of Lound , confirms to Walter de Manthorp of Somerleyton (Somerleton) two pieces of land in Lound (Lund). Dated at Lound the Tuesday next before the feast of St. Peter ad vincula, 15 Ed. III.

John, son of Adam Westwynd of Kessingland (Kessinglond) , grants to Isabel Bonde of Ashby (Askeby) one piece of land, containing 2 acres and one rood and a half, lying in the village of Lound (Lund). Dated the Sunday next after the feast of St. Thomas, apostle, 10 Ed. III.

Adam Poer of Reston (Riston) remits to Henry de Gunton and Margaret his wife all right &c. in one messuage and in all lands and tenements which the said Henry and Margaret hold in Lound and Ashby (Askeby). Dated at Lound the Sunday next after the feast of St. Mary Magdalene, 31 Ed. III.

John de Merhse of Herringfleet (Herleyngflet) grants to William Hacun of Somerleyton (Somerleton) one piece of land in Lound. Dated at Lound the Sunday next after the feast of St. Edmund, 35 Ed. III.

Henry de Gonton and Margaret his wife grant to Aveline, wife of Richard Power of Lound , one messuage and 15 acres of land in Lound and Ashby (Askeby) for the term of her life. Dated at Lound the Tuesday next after the feast of St. Faith, virgin, 43 Ed. III.

George de Felbrigge, John de Wolterton, clerk, John de Theluetham and Walter Wyot, clerck and others grant to John de Herlyngges all right which they have in one messuage and certain rents and tenements in the villages of Lound, Hopton St Margaret (Hopton), &c., together with the advowson of the church of Lound. Dated at East Harling (Estherlyngges) the Monday next after the feast of the Translation of St. Thomas the martyr, 49 Ed. III.

Final concord, made at Westminster, on the morrow of St. Martin, 50 Ed. III, between Thomas, son of Henry de Gonton, and Henry Grym, querents, and Henry de Gonton of Lound (Lounde) and Margaret his wife, deforciants, by which the said Henry and Margaret acknowledge the right of the said Thomas and Henry to messuage 24 acres of land and half an acre of turbary in Lound (Lounde) for which the latter pay 100 marks.

Final concord, made at Westminster, on the morrow of St. Martin, 50 Ed. III, between Thomas, son of Henry de Gonton, and Henry Grym, querents, and Henry de Gonton of Lound (Lounde) and Margaret his wife, deforciants, by which the said Henry and Margaret acknowledge the right of the said Thomas and Henry to messuage 24 acres of land and half an acre of turbary in Lound (Lounde) for which the latter pay 100 marks.

John Gounton of Lound grants to John Ayldre of Herringfleet (Heryngflet) Roger Phymour and Stephen Key all his tenements &c. in Lound, Hopton St Margaret (Hopton), and Ashby (Askeby). Dated at Lound, 20 Nov., 1 Hen. IV (1399).

Master John Judde, clerk, and 3 others remit and quit-claim to Roger Prymour of Lound, Stephen Keye and John Dunstone all their right in those lands, tenements, &c. which they had by the feoffment of William Ely, formerly rector of Beccles (Becclys), in the villages of Lound and Ashby (Askeby). Dated at Beccles (Becclys) on the feast of Saints Processus and Martimen 13 Hen. IV.
