OXFORD. Philip, the miller, of Oxford , grants to the church and nuns of St. Nicholas of Litlemore, one seld which Hugh the marshal held of him for one mark of silver, with a solar that extends itself beyond the said seld and beyond another seld on the south, namely that next the house which was Robert Oweyn 's, in the parish of St. Michael at the north gate; paying annually 4d. for all service. Witnesses. Peter, son of Torald, then mayor, Laurence, son of William Geoffrey de Stockwell , Adam Feteplace , Thomas under the Wall , Hugh Fane , then provosts. (c. 1244.)
