An acknowledgment by John, bishop of Lincoln , of the receipt of 8s. of the prior of Daventry, by the name of an annual pension, ending Michaelmas last, for the appropriation of the churches of Daventry, Staverton, West Haddon, and Norton. Dated 6 October, after 1480 "anno domini millesimo ... et nostre transl[ationis] anno [sexto?]". [The bishop therefore was John Russell, translated from Rochester in Sept. 1480. John Chedworth, the bishop in 1452, had not been translated.] .

Mutilated indenture by which William, prior, &c., of D⟨aventry⟩ grant to John Couper alias Boteler of D⟨aventry⟩ , yeoman, and Robert Cokkes of Staverton, husbandman, all their tithes and oblations in Staverton for 12 years. Nicholas Flecknowe of D⟨aventry⟩ , husbandman, grants to Nicholas Catesby, esq., Edward Newenham , William Lane of Orlingbere , William Staverton , and Thomas Graunte, gent., (i) a cottage with a garden adjacent in D⟨aventry⟩ , between the prior’s tenement on the west, and that of Nicholas Welby on the east; (ii) 3 half acres in Staverton—one acre above Strutboroughe between the prioress of Catesby’s land and that of Thomas Bradele (?), and ½ an acre above Rowdone between Richard Heddon ’s land and that of John Strychenall . A parchment book (bound in 1929), folios 1–11d., about 10½″ × 13″. f. 1. ‘Missus Gabriel de coelis’= Chevalier, Repertorium Hymnologicum no. 11636, which see for references to printed editions. This prose or sequence in honour of the Virgin Mary was in common use from the end of the twelfth century. f. 1. d. A rental of the lands assigned to the Chapel of S. Mary, between 1250–1288. It is here given in full because it provides a terminus ante quem for dating grants of land to the Chapel. ‘Memorandum quod anno domini 1250 in vigilia s.
