Robert de Waunford, merchant, grants to the hospital of St. Peter without the gate of Risseby, in the suburb of St. Edmund, six acres of arable land lying in the fields of Westley (Westle) in that field called 'Le Dune', paying yearly 6d. to the lord of Horningsheath Parva (Little Horniggesherthe). Mabel, formerly wife of Baldewyne de Symplinge, Ralph Hereward, Roger Sumer, and Roger de Lausel, executors of the will of the said Baldewyne, deceased, sell to the prior and brethren of the hospital of St. Peter, for 11 marks of silver, three acres of arable land in the fields of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund) towards the west. Westley. John de Westle, chaplain, gives to William prior of the hospital of St. Peter one halfpenny of annual rent, which he was accustomed to receive of Isabella, relict of Robert de Westle. (c. 1270-80.)

Henry de Tifteshal grants to Eadmund, the abbot and convent of St. Edmund, in frankalmoigne, a messuage in the village of Redgrave, and twenty acres of land lying near the same, and also another acre lying there and a meadow in Rickinghall (Rikinghale), and 6d. annual rent in Glendrave and in Rikinghale. Redgrave (?). Walter Oligrant of Redgrave grants to John, the abbot of Bury St. Edmund, and his successors, 16 pence of annual rent (from certain persons), for which concession the said abbot gave to the said Walter nine shillings and 8d. of silver. (c. 1290-1300.)

BURY. The (long) will of Henry de Heleweton, dated at Bury St Edmunds (St Edmund) the Tuesday next after the feast of St. Botulph [19 June], 1274.

Convention (indented) made between Robert de Baketon , clerk, then prior of the hospital of St. Peter, and convent of the same, of one part, and Robert de Waunford and Isabella his wife of the other, by which the said Robert and Isabella grant to the said hospital six acres of land in Westley (Westle), in the field called la Dune for which the said prior and convent will give them annually 4s. during their lives. Robert le Rus of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund) grants to Nicholas de Neketune, burgess of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund), for his fidelity and for 7 marks in hand paid, 9s. of annual quit-rent from a shop in the street called 'La Rue Marchaunde.' William Trussebut, glover, of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund), and Margery his wife grant to John de Pastone, vintner, of the same town, for 14 marks one messuage in Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund) in the street which is called 'le Mustowe,' at an annual rent to the sacristan of St. Edmund of 32 pence of silver for all services. ⟨Bury St Edmunds.⟩ Basilia, wife of Alexander Brun of Bury St Edmunds (St Edmund) , quit-claims to the brethren of the hospital of St. Peter without the gate of Risby (Rysseby), and Robert the warden those three roods of arable land which her husband granted to them in the field of Aylmerecroft. Alan, called the prior, and convent of the hospital of St. Peter grant to the brethren of the hospital of St. Nicholas the whole of the tithe which belonged to them from the land which Adam de Hopetun gave in frankalmoigne to the said hospital of St. Nicholas, paying annually to the hospital of St. Peter five-pence. BARTON. Grant from Andrew son of Walter Bryen of Great Barton or Barton Mills (Bertone) to Adam son of Bartholomew the Miller of Great Barton or Barton Mills (Bertone) , for 3s. of a part of his messuage at Great Barton or Barton Mills (Bertone), paying yearly one penny. (c. 1240-50)

BARTON (Little). Robert Canewas grants to the church of St. Edmund and the monks there, in frankalmoigne, the whole of the water running between Mildenhall (Midehale) and Barton Mills (Bertune), with the fishery which belongs to him and the two lashers, viz. of Lodemuthe and Kemesingeford; for this donation the convent of St. Edmund gave to him one mark of silver in aid of his peregrination. (c. 1210-20.) Among the witnesses, Bartholomew provost of the Hundred.

Hugh, son of John of Rikighal, grants to John, the abbot of St. Edmund, one wind-mill in the village of Rickinghall Superior (Upper Rikinghale), with the site and land adjacent. For this charter of donation the said abbot gave to the said Hugh 20 marks and 2 pieces of land reckoned as 3 acres at Redgrave. (c. 1260-90.)

Convention made between Robert, the prior, and the brethren of the hospital of St. Peter without the gate of Risseby of the town of St. Edmund, of the one part, and Adam de Cokefeud of the other, by which the said prior and brethren demise one shop in the town of Bury St Edmunds (St. Edmund), in the way called Schapmannisrowe, for 10 years from Michaelmas 1 Ed.
