Clemencia, relict of Richard de Uptun , with the counsel and consent of Henry de Dunnitun , quit-claims to William her son, the said son of Richard de Upton, all right in three acres and a half of land in the fields of Uptun. (c. 1240-50.) .

WESTBURY. Walter Line of Westbury , son of William the carter, of Schaldeston , grants to Sibil his daughter a messuage with a curtilage adjoining, in Westbury, which he had in exchange from William, son of Osebert the smith . Dated ... the Sunday next before the feast of St. Andrew the apostle, 24 [Edw. I.] Witn. Jordan Bastard of Westbury .

Indenture between the abbot and convent of Oseney of one part, and Jordan Bastard of Westbury of the other, witnesseth that the said Jordan for six marks sterling, in hand paid, demise to the abbot and convent for twenty years a meadow between that of the lord of Westbury and the meadow of Fulewele. Dated at [Ful]well on St. Barnabas' day, 2 Ed. [I] (11 June 1274). [Mutilated.] .

WAVERTON, Cheshire. Sir John de Croft, kt., son of sir Hugh de Croft, kt., records and confirms the grant made by his ancestor sir Hugh in 1191 of the tithes of his lordship of Waverton to the abbot and canons of Oseney, to be held of the priory of Tetfort. Dated October, 1289.

RISINDON (Little), co. Gloucester. Memorandum that in the year 1278, on the vigil of St. Laurence, a convention was made between the abbot and convent of Oseney on the one part, and master Roger de Sowy on the other, viz. that the said master Roger grants and quitclaims for himself, his heirs and assigns, all right in the patronage or advowson of the church in the manor of Little Rysindon, provided that the abbot and convent shall present to the same church any priest or other of fit and good life, who may be willing and able annually to perform priestly functions, under a penalty of deprivation of the benefice. And that they accept security from the person presented to the same, of observing the underwritten articles, at the time they bind him for payment of the pension due to them, namely, that in each week he shall celebrate one mass for the lord of the manor in the said church, provided that the solemn feasts do not hinder, and in mass and one collect daily pray for the souls of William and Sarah, the parents of the said Roger, and also their anniversary mass shall be solemnly celebrated in the same church.

TURKDEN. Robert Bel de Stowell grants to Robert le Bel , his son, one virgate of land in Turkedene, with appurtenances, which Robert de Toreni gave to him, paying annually the service due to the chief lord of the fee, viz. 1 lb. of cummin, which Sara relict of Rondulf the smith holds for her life. Witness. Thomas, abbot of Winchcombe . (c. 1221-31.) .

Robert de Toreny grants to the church and canons of Oseney a confirmation of the gift which William, son of Henry , his father, made to them of the church of Turkden, in frankalmoigne. (c. 1240.) .

ALDSWORTH, Gloucestershire. Robert, son of Alured de Leche , with the assent of Matilda his wife, grants for himself and heirs, in frankalmoigne, to the church and canons of Oseney, in consideration of the receipt of 10s. one and a half virgate of land with a messuage in the village of Walle, viz. that land which he sometime held of the same canons; paying annually to him and his heirs half a mark. at [Beyber']. (c. 1220.) [Mutilated.] .

Convention between William, canon, and proctor general of the abbot and canons of Oseney , and Robert de Vadis , by which he leases to the said Robert for his life the church of Kiltevenan to farm, paying annually to the canons of Oseney or their assigns 2s. (c. 1216-26.) .

Roger, son of Robert Kerdif of Kiltevenan, chaplain, grants for 30 years, to the abbot and convent of Oseney and brother Walter Hilmden their proctor at Kiltevenan 3 1/2 acres of arable land in the field of Kiltevenan, as security for payment of 16 marks, at an annual rent of 7d. Dated 25 Ed. I.

OVERTON, Leicester. Memorandum from the official of the bp. of Lincoln, that Thomas de Verdun, rector of Overton , may pay to the abbot and convent of Oseney each year at Michaelmas, according to a composition, the same as his predecessors. Dated at Oxford on St. Andrew's day, 1250.

Master Thomas, rector of Overton , by agreement with the abbot and convent of Oseney, and consent of master Robert de Marescal, official of the bp. of Lincoln , obtains the tithes of the abbot and convent at Twicros, viz. 2 parts of the tithes of corn, for a payment of 3s. within the three weeks next after the feast of St. Michael, at Oseney. Dated at Ibstock, St. Laurence's day, 1250.

LONDON. Margery, daughter of Stephen Nicholas , quit-claims to Roger, the abbot, and convent of Oseney, all her right in all edifices, lands, and tenements, which the said abbot and convent have in the suburbs of the city of London, viz. in the parish of St. Sepulchre's beyond Newgate, to be published in "pleno hustengo London". (c. 1285-95.) Witn. Will. de Farendon, alderman, etc.

ESTROP, co. Northampton. Ralph Bulge of Purston grants to the church and canons of St. Mary, Oseney, the donation which Matthew de Stratton, archdeacon of Bucks , made to them of lands, rents, and tenements, which he had of his fee in the village and fields of Estrop, paying annually to him and his heirs l0d. for all services; also he grants to them the donation which Walter Lefeye and Isabella his wife made to them of a certain plot, and 39 acres of arable land in the fields of Estrop, at an annual rent of 2s. (c. 1260-70.) .

Matilda, daughter of Ralph Bulge of Purston , grants to William, the abbot, and canons of St. Mary, Oseney, in frankalmoigne, a messuage with a curtilage which she had of the gift of Ralph her father, and confirmed by Ralph Bulge her uncle, in the village of Estrop; paying annually for all service one penny. (c. 1250-60.) .

Ralph Bulge of Purston, jun., grants to William, the abbot, and canons of St. Mary, Oseney, in frankalmoigne, an annual rent of one penny, which was accustomed to be paid to him by sir Jordan, the chaplain, for 2 messuages which he held of him in Estrop; also another rent of 1d., which Hugh de Lyons ("Leonibus") and Matilda his wife were accustomed to pay for a messuage in the same village. (c. 1270-80.)

Final concord, made at Oxford on the vigil of St. Martin, 5 John (10 Nov. 1203), between Hugh, the abbot, and convent of Oseney, querents, and William Ruffus of Waleshal , deforciant, concerning common of pasture of the whole of the wood and land of the same William which is between Stanhale and Sulfhill, by which the said William acknowledges the said wood and land to be the right of the said abbot and convent, to hold the same in frankalmoigne, and they receive the said William to the benefits and prayers of their house of Oseney.

Geoffrey, bp. of Coventry , confirm abbot and convent of Oseney the appropriation of the church of Shenston, which they had obtained by the concession of William de Brai , patron of the said church, and the concession and confirmation of H., predecessor of the said Geoffrey. (c. 1200.) .

William de Waleshal grants to the abbot and convent of St. Mary, Oseney, and to their men of Stanhale, in frankalmoigne, common of pasture for all their cattle in Cleyhunger, with all the privileges which they have in his wood of Solfhull, as in the chirograph made in the King's court (Ch. 250). (c. 1204.) .

Sir John de Grendon, kt., grants to the church and canons of Oseney, in frankalmoigne, five royal acres of land (acras terre regales), viz. 4 acres together in Hok to the east of the village of Little Stanhale, between his culture which is called Hok and Little Stanhale, and one acre between the land of William Abl:o , and Blakelee. (c. 1240-50.) .

Sir Robert de Grendon, kt., quit-claims to William de Wythull and Alan de Sutton, clerk, that plot of land with the oak, containing 5 ft. in breadth and 100 ft. in length, which lies near his marlpit between the croft of William the forester , and the drove which leads from the village of Fulverdel to the village of Little Stonhale. (c. 1220-30.)

William, son of Drogo de Alrewych , grants to Oseney and all their men of Stonhale, free common of pasture for all their cattle throughout the whole of his land of Alrewch. (c. 1260-70.)
