Adam, son of William, son of Samson de Alreton , grants to St. Mary and the monks of Kirkestall, in frankalmoigne, 20s. of annual rent formerly held by them from the village of Alreton. (c. 1210-20.)

Convention made between Maurice, the abbot, and convent of Kirkestall, of the one part, and Robert the son of Richard de Lofthusun of the other, by which the said abbot and convent grant to the said Robert a bovate of land in Lofthusun (Lofthous), to hold the same from the feast of St. Martin, 1235, for 8 years, at an annual payment of 3s. 6d. (Very minute writing.) .

Adam, the abbot of Kyrkestall, grants to his prior and convent of Kirkstall 10s. 8d. of annual rents from the village of Roudun. (1249-59.)

Charter reciting the contention in the year of grace 1259, between sir Hugh, the abbot, and the convent of Kyrkestall, of the one part, and Robert the son of Richard le Blund of Alreton of the other, concerning the liberties, rights, and easements belonging to one bovate of land in Alreton which the said Robert holds as successor of his father and which are now granted to him by the said abbot and convent. Alexander de le Eschaleres and Alicia his wife grant to the monks of Kyrkestall for 20 marks an annual rent of 23s. 4d. which the monks were accustomed to pay to them for a meadow in the territory of Folifayt. (c. 1260.)

William, son of William de Alreton , remits and quit-claims to the abbot and monks of Kyrkestall all right in one bovate of land, one acre and one essart in Alreton, of the gift of Henry the chaplain of Thornover . (c. 1250-60.)

Robert de Bernes grants to St. Mary and the monks of Kyrkestall, with his body, in frankalmoigne, 10d. of annual rent in the village of Calverle, with homages, reliefs, and other services, as paid by Hugh the Harper ("Citharista") and Thomas son of Jordan to Jordan son of Hugh de Secrof . (c. 1230-40.) (see MS. Ch. Yorks. 19).

Margaret de Roudun, widow, grants to the monks of Kirkkestall, in frankalmoigne, one toft which she has in Roudun, together with an essart called Le Stanirode and Le Stanipikel, and 2 acres and 1 perch which lie near 'Le Wellesic.' (c. 1240-50.) Witness. Geoffrey de Ardingtone .

Ralph, son of Geoffrey de Ardingtone , quit-claims to the monks of Kirkestall all right in two bovates of land in the village of Ardingtone, now held by Jordan de Bingelay and formerly by Hugh Wavasur . (c. 1250-60.)

Jordan de Storthys, son and heir of Suan de Leicester , grants to the monks of St. Mary Kyrkastall, in frankalmoigne, forty marks, the whole of his land in Neuhal and Bolling, paying yearly to Robert de Ferril 2s. 6d. Dated in the year of grace 1248.

Robert de Stapelton, son of William de Stapelton , confirms to William his brother, for his homage and service, the whole of his land which he has in the village of Brameley of the gift of Emma his mother, excepting the service of the heirs of John de Lungheuilers and of Robert de Coygners and his heirs of Westermoley. Witn. sir John de Hoderale, steward of Pontefract . (c. 1250-60.) .

Richard, son of Robert of the cemetery "de cimiterio" of Allerton , grants to the monks of Kirkestall the whole of his land in Colwaynrode, also he quit-claims all his right in all lands, mills, woods, &c. of which the said monks were seised in the year 1238, viz. in the territories of Allerton, Hedingleid , and Osmundthorp. Maurice, the abbot, and the convent of St. Mary, Kirkestall, grant to William, son of Henry "Cythariste" (the harper) , the half of one messuage and the half of one toft in the village of Calverley, which Robert de Bernes bought of Jordan son of Hugh de Secroft : paying annually sixpence. (c. 1220-40.) .

Adam Gandon grants to the monks of Kirkestall the whole of his land which he had at the head of the meadow of the said monks in Pudekessai. (c. 1250-60.) (Partly obliterated.) .

Walter, son of Adam Samson of Puddesay , confirms to the abbot of Kirkstall with his body an annual rent of 2s. out of the village of Puddesay from land of Richard de Puddesay, carpenter. (c. 1240-50.) .

John, son of Thomas, son of Rayner de Pontefract , remits and quitclaims to the abbot and convent of Kyrkestall the whole of the services and annual rent &c. which ...hel de Braddeford and three others were accustomed to render in the villages of Pontefract and Darington. Convention, dated at St. Sever the Saturday next after the feast of St. Luke, evang., 1287, between Hugh, the abbot, and convent of Kirkestal of the one part, and sir Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln and constable of Chester , of the other part; by which the abbey quit-claims to the earl the lands held of him and his ancestors in Acrentone, Cliveacher and Hunnecotes in Lancashire, and in la Roundehaye, Secroft, and Shadewell in Yorkshire in return for annual payments of 50 marks for the lands in Lancashire, and 30 marks for those in Yorkshire.

Walter, son of Alice, formerly wife of Henry, son of Walter de Folketon , confirms to the abbey of Ryevall, in frankalmoigne, the whole of his meadow in Gangemensteyn in the territory of Osgoteby, which they had by the gift of the said Alice. (c. 1270-80.) .

Walter, the abbot, and convent of Roche grant to Robert, son of Roger de Tyneslowe , for his homage and service, two bovates of land in Brameleye, which he had by the gift of his brother Walter ; rendering yearly 8s. (c. 1254-68.)

BOLTON (Priory of). Alan, son of Richard de Wyntewrthe , quit-claims to the church and canons of St. Mary, Boulton, for a sum of money in hand paid, all right in one acre of land in the fields of Wyntewrthe within the lordship of the aforesaid canons. (c. 1280-990.)

Gregory, son of William of Cothewrth , grants to the church of St. Mary Magdalene of Bretton and the monks there, in frankalmoigne, the homage and service of Robert the smith of Wirkesburg for a plot of meadow in Cothewrth, held of him by the said Robert at an annual rent of 6d. (c. 1260-80.)

Martin, son of Ingeram de ('Nova haia') Newhay , with the counsel and consent of Agnes his wife and Richard his heir, grants to the church of St. Nicholas of Drax and the canons there, three acres of land in Neuhay, paying annually 3d. (c. 1200-10.) .

John de la Pomeray confirms to John, son of Nicholas de Osgotby , a certain assart in Osgotby called 'Arnebrandriding,' also 12d. annual rent out of the said assart and one sellion of land near the way leading to the moor of Osgotby, paying annually to the prior of Draxe at the great altar of St. Nicholas of Drax one rose for all services. L⟨aurence⟩ , prior, and the chapter of St. Mary of Giseburg, grant to Luciane de Lund that house of Jarum on the north of the church, which Ern⟨isius⟩ , the chaplain, gave them in frankalmoigne; at an annual rent of 5s. to the use of the sacrist. (c. 1211-18.) .
