Robert de Bernes grants to St. Mary and the monks of Kyrkestall, with his body, in frankalmoigne, 10d. of annual rent in the village of Calverle, with homages, reliefs, and other services, as paid by Hugh the Harper ("Citharista") and Thomas son of Jordan to Jordan son of Hugh de Secrof . (c. 1230-40.) (see MS. Ch. Yorks. 19).
