Richard of Grimescote grants to St. L⟨eonard’s⟩ , in free alms, a croft near the hedge belonging to the Hospital (sepes infirmorum) ’and one acre’ lying over Sugkewrche in Hafdelond above the acre held from the Hospital in lancetagium (infirmorum lancet’). Richard son of Anselm of Grimescote grants to St. L⟨eonard’s⟩ in free alms land in C⟨laydon⟩ which they formerly held from him at farm, i.e. (i) the land once held by Walter son of John in villeinage, (ii) a virgate which Ailwyn once held from the grantor in villeinage. Witnesses: Sir Thomas de Arderne of Hanewelle , Sir John fitz-Guydo , Hugh of Bereford , Walter le honorable , Simon of Cropp ’, master Thomas of Molintone , William his brother, Lawrence of Herdewic , Nicholas of Palsynton , John Waudard , Henry Gadone . ⟨c. 1210–c. 1220.⟩

Richard de Grimescote grants to St. Mary and St. Leonard’s, Clattercote, in free alms, a virgate of land and a messuage in Cleydon, which Robert son of Aldewin once held from him. Witnesses: Sir Robert de Wycham , Simon de Cropray , John Cachelen , Hugh de Berford , Anselm de Grimescote . ⟨1260–70.⟩

Claydon (Bucks. ⟨recte Oxon.⟩). Richard de Grimescote son of Anselm de Grimescote grants to the same in free alms, (i) one virgate of arable land in Cleydon, which Henry le Hunte once held from him; (ii) and a messuage with a croft, lying between the prior’s land and the road to the church, which William Faber once held from him; (iii) all his right in the land called Presteshurne. Witnesses: Simon de Croprey , John Catheleu , Anselm de Grimescote , Henry the marshal , Gilbert de Walecote . ⟨c. 1260–70.⟩ This charter is written in the same hand as MS. D. D. Ch. Ch. M. 32.

Henry called the Marshal of Farneberi grants to the same, in free alms, a messuage and a virgate of land in Claydon, which he had of the gift of Richard de Grimmescote , namely the virgate which Richard Atteyate once held from R. de G. in villeinage.
