TOTHAM (Great). Richard de Gybbecrak grants to the church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas of Typpetrie 12 pence of annual rent which Elyas, son of Simon the clerk of Great Totham , was accustomed to pay to him for certain land that he held in Great Totham. (c. 1240-50.)

TOTHAM (Great and Little). Richard Gibecrake grants to the church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas of Typpetre in frankalmoign 3s. 2d. of annual rent which John Theobold was accustomed to pay for his tenement which he held of him in Great Totham and Little Totham, and 4d. annual rent which Roger le Neweman was accustomed to pay for a messuage and one acre of land in Great Totham, with the homage of the said John and Roger, in exchange for certain other rents in Great and Little Totham. (c. 1250-60.)

Richard de Wiremundeford grants to the church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas of Typpetre in frankalmoigne 14 pence of annual rent from the lands and tenements which Bartholomew le Wacher held in Great Totham Nevile, paying annually to the lord of the fee 1d. (c. 1260.)

TOTHAM (Great). James Chepman of Great Totham grants to sir John de Lamare, chaplain, and John Gwodman , all lands and tenements which he had in Great Totham of the fee of the prior and monks of Stanesgate. Dated at Great Totham the Monday next after the feast of All Saints, 47 Ed. III.

Convention by which John de Lamare, chaplain, and John Gwodman , grant to William de Cantuaria, the prior, and the monks of Stanesgate all their lands, tenements, rents, &c. in Great Totham for 100 years, paying annually for the same 12 grains of pepper. Dated at Stanesgate, 8 March, 48 Ed. III.

TOTHAM (Great) (Essex). John Gwodman of Monks' Farleigh remits and quit-claims to sir John de Lamare, chaplain of Assche , all his right, &c. in land at Great Totham which, they jointly acquired from James Chapman of Totham . Dated at Monks' Farleigh, 12 March, 48 Ed. III.

Totham [Essex]. Ivo fitz-Gilbert grants to Richard de Withermundeford for his homage and service, all the land which he held from Bartholomew the cook in T⟨otham⟩ . Rent: 6d. to the heirs of B. the c. and scutage 1½d. For this Richard gave 8/-. Witnesses: Bartholomew de la more , Philip de Bovile , Robert Folenfant , William de Musters , Hugh the forester , Gilbert of Totham , John of Syreburne , Walter the janitor , Amald of Colne, clerk. ⟨c. 1250–60.⟩

Totham [Essex]. Simon de Barnaville grants to the same, for his homage and service and a mark of silver, a piece of land in Great Totham, between the land late of Bartholomew de la more , and that of Amicia de Shereburne , abutting on the road which stretches from John Ballard ’s house to that of B. de le M. Rent: 1d., scutage, ½d. Witnesses: Sewal de Mora , John de Seymtawayn , Robert Folenfant , John de Shereburne , John Alard , Philip de Bovile , Robert de (Gibecralse?), Roger Anketil , Peter le paumer . ⟨c. 1260–70.⟩
