TOTHAM (Great and Little). Richard Gibecrake grants to the church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas of Typpetre in frankalmoign 3s. 2d. of annual rent which John Theobold was accustomed to pay for his tenement which he held of him in Great Totham and Little Totham, and 4d. annual rent which Roger le Neweman was accustomed to pay for a messuage and one acre of land in Great Totham, with the homage of the said John and Roger, in exchange for certain other rents in Great and Little Totham. (c. 1250-60.)
