Indenture made 17 April, 1 Ed. VI (1547), by which Robard Sharpe and Nicolas Avys the elder, supervisors of the lands and tenements given to the town of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund) by Margaret Odam, gentylwoman, according to the will of the said Margaret, have demised to William Parke of Bury St Edmunds (Bury), mercer, a shop without a 'soeler' in the Fyshmarket for 21 years, at an annual rent of 8s.

Indenture made 3 Feb., 35 Hen. VIII (1544), by which Robert Sharppe and John Swanton, supervisors of the lands late Margaret Odam's, now belonging to the guild of the Purification of S. Mary V. demise unto Roger Barbor 27 acres of land in Bury St Edmunds (Bury), Westley (Westeley) and Horringer (Moche Hornyngferth) for 20 years, at an annual rent of 25s. 8d.

Indenture dated 7 Aug. 2 and 3 Philip and Mary, by which Roger Barbour and William Parke of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), mercer demyse and grant to Edmund Hawkyns, grocer a close containing 7 a. 3 r. 18p. in Westgatefelde of Bury St Edmunds (Bury), for 21 years, at an annual rent of 24s.

Indenture made 24 Nov., 9 Elizabeth, by which Thomas Buttery of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), yeoman sells to John Nycholysson, for 100 pounds, two pieces of arable land lying in the fields of Bury St Edmunds (Bury) aforesaid, containing 11 acres.

Bond entered into by Thomas Barnard of Hargrave (Hardygrave, Suffolk), "sponer", in a sum of twenty marks, for the sale of a garden and a tenement in the High Street, Bury St Edmunds (Bury) to Thomas Cleris, discharging the letter from the dower of Margaret wife of the said Thomas Barnard. Richard More of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), draper (?), enfeoffs John Hiegham, sir Thomas Kytson, knt., and 22 others in the whole of a late ("nuper") stone chapel situated in Bury St Edmunds (Bury) aforesaid to the west of le Rysbyegate. Dated 24 April, 25 Elizabeth, 1583.

Grant by Q. Elizabeth to sir Nicholas Bacon of certain stock "or stawre" of the manor of Mildenhall (Mildenhale), co. Suffolk, formerly demised by the abbot and convent of Bury St. Edmund to Robert Clerk, the said Nicholas paying to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster , to which the manor of Mildenhall (Mildenhale) is lately annexed, £54 10s. 4d. Thomas Bright of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), draper, son and heir of Thomas Bright, deceased, grants to Thomas Reade of Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund), mercer, a messuage situated in Bury St Edmunds (Bury St. Edmund) in the street called le Bokrowe. HOLLESLEY, &c. Indenture made 20 May, 38 Elizabeth (1596), witnesseth that William Cade of London, gent., has leased to John Hobart of the Middle Temple 40 acres of marsh in Hollesley (Howesley), and lands and tenements &c. elsewhere, as in letters patent, 37 of Q. Eliz., being part of the lands of the dissolved monastery of Butley in Suffolk, for 21 years.

BBAMPSTON. Indenture between Adam Reyner, master of the hospital of St. James, Donewic, of one part, and John Crakenell of Brampton (Bramston) of the other, witnesseth that the master and brethren and sisters of the hospital have demised to the said John two pieces of land lying in Brampton (Bramston) for 30 years, at an annual rent of 2s. l0d. Dated on the feast of St. Mary Magdalen, 15 Hen. VII (22 July 1500).

Indenture made on the feast of St. Michael, 21 Henry VII (29 Sept. 1505), by which Adam Reyner, master of the hospital of St. James in Donwich, grants to James Davy of Brampton (Bramston) a messuage &c. in Brampton (Bramston) for a term of 76 years, paying yearly 10s. to the use of the said hospital.

Indenture dated 19 Jan., 20 Hen. VII (1505), witnesseth that the prior, Rich. Foorthy and convent of Christe Chirche of the Trinite of Gippeswiche have granted to Agnes Crane, widow, their manor called Mynyotts in Creting and Coddenham for 31 years, at an annual rent of £4 l0s.
