RICHMOND (Abbey of St. Agatha). EASBY? Henry, the abbot, and convent of St. Agatha grant and quit-claim to the abbot and monks of Jorevall the cow-common of Mudebech in Garcedale which they held of sir Adam fitz Hugh of Magneby , by girograph dated feast of St. Peter ad vincula 1240, for 12 years saving the common pasture, which they previously had for the payment of 16 marks by the abbot and convent of Jorevall. Carta Gilberti Pecche, filii Hamon. BYLAND, alias BELLA-LANDA (Abbey of). Letters patent from King Hen. ⟨III⟩ taking the abbey of Byland and its possessions under his protection. Dated at Windlẽs (Windsor), 20 Feb., 31 of his reign. .

Inspeximus by the dean and chapter of Glasgow of two deeds of inspeximus by John and by Robert bishops of Glasgow, in 1273 and 1330 and (?) of a decree by John, bp. of Glasgow , dated 8 id. July 1265, to the prior and convent of Giseburn, concerning pensions payable from the churches of Anand, Loughmaban, Cumbertre, Gretenhou, Raynpatrik, and Kirkpatrik, in Scotland. Dated at Glasgow the Sunday next after the feast of the Ascension of our Lord, 1330. .

Geoffrey, bishop of Coventry , confirms to the canons of Bretton two parts of the tithes of corn from the demesne of the Lord Ailric of the village of Midelton, with the small tithes of the same lordship, as granted by the prior and convent of Pontefract (c. 1206.) .

William, son of Walter Ingeram , confirms to the brethren and church of St. Mary of Ghiseburn the whole donation of his father in churches, lands, and other things, viz. the churches of Erneclife, Welleberghe, and Heslertone, with lands adjoining, in frankalmoigne. (c. 1200.) .

Claydon (Bucks. ⟨recte Oxon.⟩). Henry Faber of Farneberge grants to the same, in free alms, Richard son of Walter Sweterich of Cleydon , with all his issue and chattels, whom the grantor bought back from Richard fitz- Anselm de Grimescote . Witnesses: Nicholas de Say , John Kachelewe , Alexander de Wulfeye , Richard fitz-Symon de Bradewelle , Robert de Aubundele , clerks, Richard de la Dene , Robert de Leueland , Stephen the baker . ⟨c. 1240–c. 1250.⟩

Leeds.. Alan the clerk of Thornton, vicar of the church of Adel , is bound to the prior of Holy Trinity, York, in 10 marks a year, and if any controversy is moved against them by A. fitz- Hugh de Wit ’, or by Hugh himself, by reason of a charter which the prior &c. asserts they sought (‘inpetraverunt’) from them in the lifetime of A. the archdeacon and rector of Adel, to have the church on the rector’s death, Alan will undertake the action at his own cost.
