Indenture (Marriage settlement). Clewer (Berkshire). 21 Ed. III. August 4, 1347. Indenture between Sir John de Brocas on one part, and Walter Whithors and Isabella Barry on the other part, reciting grant by the former of £20 rent in Clewer, and conditioning it on the marriage of these persons; but that it is only to come into effect after marriage if they lose the several properties in Nottinghamshire which he had given them (deed not found), and if they have made every effort at law to defend themselves against any claim of the brothers of Isabella.
