Carlton.. Peter fitz-Grent gives the advowson of Karelton, with two bovates of land in K⟨arelton⟩ , and two bovates of land in Lotheriesdene with tofts (tochtis) and with common rights (‘et cum communitate ville’) in wood and plain, to S. Mary’s Bochelton, in free, for the soul of Everard his grandfather, &c. Witnesses: Robert the chaplain of Skipton , Mauger de Gisleburn , Adam the clerk of K⟨arelton⟩ , and Alexander the parson of K⟨arelton⟩ , and Everard his heir, and William his brother, and Aufras his brother, and Walter his brother, and Henry his brother, and Hugh de Suttune , and William Favel , Helte de Estbi . ⟨c. 1160–c. 1180.⟩
