Clapcote. Indenture by which Stephen Cryps, chaplain, grants to John Broun, porter, Alice his wife, and John son of Henry of Stapleford , a tenement in All Saints’, and two acres of land in C⟨lapcote⟩ , in Medforlond, for their lives, reserving to himself a plot containing a well, from which his father Walter Cryps used to procure free stone. Rent 6/-. They have granted to the said Stephen a solar with free entry and exit at reasonable hours (temporibus opportunis). Witnesses: John de Anesty , John atte Ruysche , Philip Gylot , John Horspathe , Richard Folyot , John Louches , Robert, clerk . Given at W⟨allingford⟩ . ⟨29 June 1349.⟩
