Seal: One is a green seal of Hugo Wells (see Catalogue of Seals in the British Museum, vol. i, p. 258) Legend: ‘Hugo dei gracia Lincolniensis episcopus’ the Virgin and Child Legend: ‘VITA SIT HUGONIS HIIS INFORMATA PATRONIS’

Seal: The other seal, also green, is that of the Chapter of Lincoln (see Catalogue of Seals in the British Museum, vol. i, p. 271, no. 1789)
