Benedict de Sroppeslond grants to the prior and canons of Tonebrige, for 7s., six pence of annual rent, which Lucas called Heyward , and John de Cumbesell were accustomed to pay for certain land held of him at Holbeme in the parish of Legha. Also he granted a certain wood ["brocum"] with appurtenances, which he bought of Eustace de Wulkestede in the parish of Legha, for ever, paying annually 3 grains of pepper. (c. 1260-70.)
