Wortham. John, son of Robert de Wurtham, quit-claims in full court, to Samson, the abbot of St. Edmund, and his successors, William and Wimer, sons of Elfwin de Wurtham, their chattels and service and with all that belongs to them, for 11 marks which Robert de Bosco gave to him in order that said Robert might hold them from the abbot; and for this quit-claim the abbot releases from an annual payment of 2d. (c. 1190-1200) [Sampson, abbot, 1182-1211.]
