Judgement by S⟨imon⟩ dean of York, H⟨amo⟩ precentor of York, and B. prior of Newburgh (in pursuance of a letter from pope Celestine ⟨III⟩ dated 8 Kal. Aug. an. V) in a dispute between the prior and canons of Giseb⟨urhe⟩ and William, clerk, and Ralph his son officiating as rector in the chapel of Herlessei ; viz. that after the deaths of the said William and Ralph, the chapel shall pertain to the canons' church of Erneclive as being the mother-church, and that meanwhile the said William shall pay yearly one aureus or two shillings and Ralph two aurei or four shillings. [1195] .
