RICHMOND (Abbey of St. Agatha). EASBY? Henry, the abbot, and convent of St. Agatha grant and quit-claim to the abbot and monks of Jorevall the cow-common of Mudebech in Garcedale which they held of sir Adam fitz Hugh of Magneby , by girograph dated feast of St. Peter ad vincula 1240, for 12 years saving the common pasture, which they previously had for the payment of 16 marks by the abbot and convent of Jorevall. Witn. sir Adam de Alverly, bailiff of Richmond , sir William de Midelton, sheriff of York [etc.] (c. 1240) .

Carta Ceciliae de Suttone priorissae, Willelmi de Verm prioris, et conventus de Etone (Nuneaton, co. Warw.) confirmans Umfrido de Witewelle pro homagio suo messuagium et terras in villa de Atleberga, etc. in escambium messuagii in eadem villa, pro uno obolo argenti conventui, et tribus solidis argenti Capellanis ac clericis, annuatim reddendis ; cum sigillis duobus. Chirograph, written by the hand of Samson de Albineio of a composition between the church of Fountains and the church of Messaham for the annual payment by the former to the latter for the Easter light of 6d. worth of wax for the tithe of land called Aldeburch, ...(?) a payment because there was not much arable land there when it was first given to the monks, but afterwards they sowed almost the whole. (c. 1140-50.)

Letters patent of King Edward [II?], dated at Strugoill, 18 Oct., 20th year of his reign, being a licence to Sir John de Lancaster, kt., and Annora his wife, to enable them to infeoff Hervy de Staunton, clerk, with their manor of Barenton and the advowson of the church of the said manor, also to enable the said Hervy to reinfeoff John and Annora with the said manor for their lives.
