Robert, son of Jollanus of Pudkesay , sells and confirms, for 20s. to William, son of Adam of Pudkesay , the whole of the rent which Simon, son of Clariz , and John Pie used annually to pay him for certain lands in Pudkesay, with the service of the said men; paying annually to this said William 12d, and John paying 6d. Thomas, son of John de Byrell of Pudesay , remits and quit-claims to John Scot of Newton , John de Roudon , and sir Nicholas Adamson of Yedon, chaplain, all right in lands, tenements, &c., which they hold by the gift of Robert Atkyns and Matilda his wife, which were formerly John de Byrell's, his father, and William del Hole's late of Bramlay and Isabella his wife's in the village of Pudesay. William de Wyrkelay constitutes Richard de Thornhill , his servant, his attorney to deliver for him and in his name to Geoffrey de Lewenthorp , John de Allerton , Thomas de Clayton , and William, son of Robert de Rothelay , seisin of all his lands &c. in the territory of Pudsay. Dated 10 November, 1399.

Geoffrey de Lewenthorp , John de Allerton , Thomas de Clayton , and William, son of Robert de Rothelay , grant to William Rothelay the half of all the lands and tenements which they had by the gift of William de Wirkelay in Pudsey, in the parish of Calverley; to hold for his life, with remainder to John Rothelay, son of the said William, and to the issue of him and his wife, Katherine . ROSTON. Baldwin de Wicham and Hugh son of Hugh , and Roger son of Roger , and Robert son of William, and Ralph Buscell grant to Eustace de Vescy for 5s. a certain turbary in the territory of Roston which is called 'Ludeparcc', paying annually one penny. (c. 1200-10.) .

Isabella and Alice, daughters and heirs of Emma la Rus of Roston , grant to Peter, son of Alan de Roston , the whole of their toft in Roston and half of a perch of land at Boudalemun, and all their right in six bovate which they hold of the King in capite. (c. 1290.)

Alan, son of Ralph de Hoton, abiding in Rostone , grants to Simon de Aton all his parcels of lands and meadow belonging to one bovate called "Mopeoxgange" in Roston and Wykham in Pikeringlyth. Dated at Roston in Pikeringlyth, 14 May, 1340.

Alan, son of Ralph de Hoton, abiding in Roston , remits to Simon de Aton all right and claim which he had in one bovate of land in Roston and Wikham in Pikeringlyth, called Mopeoxgange, which he had by the gift of William son of Ralph de Roston . Dated at Roston in Pikeringlyth, 2 August, 1340.

Alan, son of Ralph de Hoton Buscell , remits and quit-claims to sir Gilbert de Aton all right in a messuage and two bovates of land, with rents and services of the free tenants of Roston and Wikham in Pikeringlyth, which were formerly William son of Ralph de Roston 's. Dated at Snaynton "in pleno loci wapentachio" the Thursday next after the feast of St. Michael, 1343 - 17 Ed. III.

Robert Passelewe of Ledes grants to sir William de Fynchedene, kt., sir William de Mirfeld, parson of Bradeforth , William de Mirfeld , Richard de Normanton, vicar of Batelay , Hugh de Wombewelle and William de Gldesome , two tofts and two bovates of land in Ruston of which one is called Sekeroxgange and the other Wygfalleoxgange and which he had by the gift of Robert de Erthyngtone. Dated at Ruston the Tuesday next after Palm Sunday, 43 Ed. III.

BURTON. Condition of a bond by which John Staynton is bound in £100 to Laurence Kay that if he do not pay a sum of 18 marks at the feast of St. John the Baptist next, then he shall make a feoffment of all the lands which were William Perot 's in Thornby in the parish of Byrton for 24 marks. Dated 11 March, 12 Henry VI.

ROTHERHAM. Bull of Pope Innocent VI, addressed to the archdeacon of the East Riding, and the chancellor and official of York granting to William Donke the mediety of the vicarage of the parochial church of Rotherham, vacant by the death of William Littester , and unduly held by Robert Mapelbek, a monk of Rufforth . Dated at Avignon 3 Kl. May, 9th year of his pontificate (i.e. 1361).

William Porter, abiding in Saldan , grants to sir Gilbert de Aton all his goods and chattels in a certain messuage in Saldan in Pykeringlyth. Dated at Saldan, 6 January, 9 Ed. III.

Sir William de Aton, kt., sen., appoints sir Richard de Hoton, chaplain, his attorney to receive for him and in his name of Richard son of William of Salden in Pykeringlyth seisin of one acre of land, as is contained in a certain writing. Dated at Aton in the vale of Pykering the Tuesday after the feast of the translation of St. Thomas, 3 Rich. II.

SCARBOROUGH. Indenture by which William de Tothale, prior of the hospital of St. John of Jerusalem , grants to the friars minor of Scartheburg one messuage in Scartheburg, abutting on the town wall. Dated at Melcheburn on St. Barnabas' day, 1300.

SOWTHOWROME. Thomas Lacy of Crumwelbothome, esq., grants to Richard Mylner of Halyfaxe with the consecut of ale his free tenants in his common of Sydale two parcels of land in the said common of Sydale, parcel of his demesne of Sowthowrome. Dated at Sowthowrome, 26 July, 22 Ed. IV.

John de Fery de Wakefeld grants to John, son of Robert of the same place, and Joan his wife, one acre of land with meadow, in the field of Stanlay near Fiviane brigge, paying yearly one penny to Thomas son of Henry de Wakefeld . Dated at Wakefeld the Wednesday next before the feast of Easter, 1314.

WAKEFIELD. Peter, son of Robert de Bruer , Nicholas de Batelay , Adam son of Walter of Wakefeld, and Jordan le Mower of the same, are bound to John, son of Robert the mercer ("mercenarii") of Wakefeld , in 53s. 4d., to be levied on their goods and chattels if Elena, daughter and one of the heirs of Thomas, son of Thomas Dade of Wakefeld , or any one of her heirs, claim a third part of a burgage in Wakefeld, which the said John son of Robert bought of her and her husband Richard Isabell . Dated at Wakefeld on the feast of All Souls, 4 Ed. I.

Adam, son of Robert de Wyrenthorp , grants to Robert, son of John de Wakefeld , all and singular the messuages, tofts, crofts, lands, tenements, &c. which he has within the bounds of Stanlay, and one tenement in Wakefeld, and 3s. of yearly rent from the shop in le Fleschbothes of Wakefeld, and the half of his meadows in Neutown Enges. Dated at Wakefeld the Friday next after the feast of the Purification, 1343.

WENTWORTH. Administration granted by Henry, archbishop of York , to John del Wod and John Musutesdere of the goods &c. of William Wyntworth of Wyntworth , deceased, who died intestate. Dated at Cawod, 3 August, 1413.

WIKHAM, Roston &c. Juliana Galiz of Roston quit-claims to John de Aton one acre and a half of meadow near Derewente, and ½ acre of arable land on the east of Wikham, and ½ acre in Soldale, for a sum of money. (c. 1240-50.)
