Crisping de Bramham , with the assent of Cecilia his wife, grants to the poor of the hospital of St. Peter, York, in frankalmoigne, three acres of land in the fields of Bramham and one toft in Bramham and common of pasture in the same village. (c. 1160-70.) .

WOLVEDEN. John Apylton , receiver of sir Robert, treasurer of the cathedral church of St. Peter, York, received of Edward Dole and John Sallnam, esqs., 20 marks sterling in part payment of a greater sum. Dated at York, 22 October, 9 Hen. VI.

YORK (Hospital of St. Leonard). William de Kirtelington, chaplain, grants to the poor of the hospital of St. Leonard, York, all his lands and tenements which he holds of the said hospital in the village of Kirtelington, together with all the good and chattels therein. Dated at York, 11 April, 26 Ed. I.

ABERFORD. Elesya de Lascy confirms the grant which Andrew le Trameyre made to John Sampson of York of the mills of Aberford. Dated at D(?)owelle on the octave of the Epiphany, 1274.

ALLERTON. Thomas le Chaumberlain of Potterneuton grants to William, son of Thomas of Kylingbek , and Dionisia his wife, and their heirs, one toft and one acre of land in Allerton, rendering yearly 18d. Dated at Potterneuton the Monday next before the Annunciation of the Virgin, 16 Ed. II.

APPLEBY. Receipt given by Thomas Wattson to Mr. Wm. Trigge for money paid for the purchase of a messuage in Eppleby, alias Appleby, viz. £18 13s. 4d. at 28 years' purchase due to the contractors for impropriations and chauntries. Dated 25 November, 1613.

ARDISLAWE (West). Indenture made 25 March, 12 Charles I, by which Robert Grenewood, of Westerton, gent., in consideration of a sum of £10 in hand paid, bargains and sells to Robert Casson of Thorpe in the Hill, yeoman, the remainder of a lease granted by John, lord Savile , of certain lands called Mooredoles in West Ardislawe, co. York.

William Albus, son of Richard de Aton , grants to John, son of William of Aton , for 100s. given to him in his great necessity, two bovates of land in the territory of Aton, formerly held by Henry the Smith of Wicham and Gilbert son of Lambert , with two tofts and crofts; paying annually 2d. William de Adthwic, son of Sablina , grants to sir Gilbert de Atun the whole of his land in Atun. (c. 1200.)

Gilbert de Atun grants to Robert, son of Robert, son of Ckar , one bovate of land in the territory of Atun, which William son of Ckar held of the grantor's father William, with a toft and croft which John the shepherd held of William, rendering annually one pound of pepper. (c. 1180-90.)

William, son of Robert de Atun , grants to Gilbert de Atun and to his heirs, for three marks, one bovate of land in the territory of Atun, which lies near the land of William son of Richard de Hatevic , with the toft which Robert le Vacker held of the grantor; paying yearly 4d. (c. 1220.)

Robert, son of Hervic de Aton , grants to Thomas, son of William Daudry of Aton , for a certain sum of money in hand paid, because of his most urgent necessity, the breadth of one rood of meadow in the meadow of Aton, lying between the meadow of sir William Jurdan and that which Hilger Haylild holds. (c. 1250-60.)

Robert, son of Hervic de Aton , grants to Thomas Daudry of Aton for a sum of money in his necessity, a certain selion of land in the territory of Aton, lying at the great hill on the west of the vill. Dated Pentecost, 1260. (Witn. almost entirely the same as those to MS. Ch. Yorks. 180) .

William, son of Gilbert de Aton , grants to Adam, son of William le Beaugraunt , and his legitimate heirs one toft with buildings, 3 acres and one rood of arable land, and one rood of meadow in the village of Aton. (c. 1240-50.)

Roger, the clerk of Aton , grants to Alice his daughter and her heirs, one toft in the village of Aton and one selion of land there, between the land formerly Lecia's, the grantor's sister, and that of Michael formerly of Adwyck , extending from the place called Hildegrippe to Cisedelle. (c. 1260-70.) .

Cristiana, daughter of Ralph, son of Letitia de Aton , widow, grants to Matilda, her daughter, 3s. of annual rent in Aton, subject to the condition that if William, son of Richard le Palmer , her uncle, returns from France at any future time, he shall receive the said rent and all that has meanwhile been paid, according to the charter given by him to the said Cristiana. Fourpence to be paid yearly to the church of St. Marten Semer. (c. 1270-80.) .

BATLEY. The answer of Thomas Smalwood of Topliffe, late minister of Batley, co. York, to the information of sir Jefferie Palmer, kt., attorney-general, denying his having ever acted under the late authorities, but acknowledging that in 1656 he received three sums of money for augmentation of his maintenance as minister of Batley. BENTLEY. Adam de Swylington leases to Adam de Parco and Dionisia his wife one messuage and land in Bentelay for 20 years, paying annually 6s. Dated at Leeds the Wednesday on the feast of St. Katherine, virgin, 1327.

BEVERLEY. John, son of Philip of London, burgess of Beverley , grants to John de Beverley, clerk, son of Petronilla Lambe , the whole of his edifice in Beverley; paying to him yearly 1d. and to the heirs of Peter de Salso Marisco 3s. (c. 1230-40.) .

BOLTON. Indenture dated 8 May, 22 Hen. VIII, by which William Golthropp of Schepley, gent. and Thomas Golthropp his cousin and heir and Alys his wife demise to Roger Hanson of Derfelde, yeoman a close with two leys, 9 acres of arable land and one acre of meadow in Bolton, for 14 years, paying annually 14s.
