Indenture made 1 October, 3 James I (1605), by which John Wentworth of Somerleyton, esq., leases unto Felix Crane of Blythburgh (Blithburgh) and William Marks of Darsham, gent., his parsonage or benefice of Blythburgh (Blithburgh) for 10 years, at an annual rent of £45.

BUXLOW. William Kenrych of Buxlow (Buckesloue) grants to Thomas Portman, son of Roger Portman of Knodishall (Cnodessale), and Matilda his wife, for 20s. one piece of arable land in Buxlow (Buckesloue) paying annually to them one root of ginger, and to the rector of the ch. of Buxlow (Buckesloue) two pence. Richard de Elmedene and Matilda his wife grant to Henry, son of Robert Hamund of Bittering Magna or Bittering Parva (Beterynge) , for three shillings one piece of pasture in Buxlow (Buckeslowe). (c. 1290-1300.) .

Richard Page of Buxlow (Buckeslowe) grants in exchange with Henry, son of Robert Hamund, the whole of his tenement in Buxlow (Buckeslowe) and Sternfield (Sternefeld) for the whole of the latter's tenement in Bittering Magna or Bittering Parva (Betering) and 10 marks sterling. Dated at Buxlow (Buckeslowe) on the feast of Pentecost, 32 Ed. I.

Simon Gamen of Semer (Semere) and Alice le Gordebof of Buxlow (Buckeslowe), his wife, grant to Henry, son of Robert Hamund of Bittering Magna or Bittering Parva (Betering) , one piece of land in Buxlow (Buckeslowe), for five shillings. Dated at Buxlow (Buckeslowe) the Wednesday next after the feast of St. Matthew, 33 Ed. I.

Alice le Cordebof of Buxlow (Buckeslowe) grants to Henry Hamund of Bittering Magna or Bittering Parva (Beteryngs) one piece of her pasture in the village of Buxlow (Buckeslowe), in exchange for a piece of his land. Dated at Buxlow (Buckeslowe) the Tuesday next before the feast of the Annunciation, 2 Ed. II.

Richard de Elmedene and Matilda his wife of Buxlow (Buckeslowe) grant to farm to Henry de Bettrynge for five shillings one piece of pasture called 'le Mor' for five years from the feast of St. Michael 5 Edw. [II]. Dated at Buxlow (Buckeslowe) the Sunday next before the feast of St. Dunstan (?) 4 Ed. II.

Laurence de Baldock, parson of Buxlow (Buxlowe), grants to Henry de Betering his third part of certain lands and tenements in Buxlow (Buxlowe) which he held continually with Mathilda de Bopham, daughter of the said Henry. Dated at Buxlow (Buxlowe) the Sunday next before the feast of St. Martin, 16 Ed. II.

Galiena, relict of Henry Portman of Buxlow (Buxlowe) , grants to William Reydone and Alice his wife two pieces of land in Buxlow. Dated at Buxlow (Buxlowe) the Monday before the feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, 5 (?) Ed. III.

John, son of William de Repdene of Buxlow (Buckeslowe) , grants to Thomas his brother five pieces of his land lying in the said village of Buxlow (Buckeslowe). Dated at Buxlow (Buckeslowe) the Sunday next before the feast of the Annunciation of the B. V. M., 10 Ed. III.

Henry le Cordebof of Buxlow (Buxlowe) grants to John de Braham certain land lying in the village of Buxlow (Buxlowe). Dated at Buxlow (Buxlowe) the Sunday next after the feast of St. Michael, 12 Ed. III.

BUXLOW, KNOTTESHALL, &c. William de Reydon of Buxlow grants to John de Braham of Knodishall (Cnodeshale) and Roger his son all the messuages, lands, rents in the villages of Buxlow (Buxlowe), Knodishall (Cnodeshale), Hazlewood (Haselwode), Freston (Fresston), Snape (Snapes), Sternfield (Sternefeyld), with the advowson of Buxlow. Dated at Buxlow the Monday in the feast of St. Matthias, 17 Ed. III

Robert Smythman demises to John Wyngefeld, kt., and four others an enclosed pightell newly built on in Buxlow (Buxlowe). Dated at Buxlow, 12 January, 7 Ed. IV (1468).

CHEDISTON. Bartholomew de Norfolch in Chediston (Chedistane) and Joan his wife grant to sir William de Nerford, kt., and Petronilla his wife, 1½d., three stalks of ginger, and three cloves annual rents in the village of Chediston (Chedistane), from Roger Barsham. Dated at Wissett (Wyssete) the Sunday next after the feast of the Nativity of our Lord 27 Ed. I.

KNODISHALL, Robert, son of William, son of Hervi de Rendham , and Christiana his wife, grant to Thomas the cook, of Badingham, for 8s. one piece of land called 'le Heygh' in the village of Knodishall (Cnodeshale). (c. 1260-70.)

Theobald de Leestun, son of William de Leestun, grants to Julian de Braham and Katherine his wife, for 20 marks and an annual payment of two shillings certain lands in the villages of Knodishall (Cnodeshale) and Leiston (Leestun), which William Walmer held of the grantor's father. (c. 1230-40.)

Roger Gerard of Leiston (Leystone) grants to William Russe, for 2½ marks, one acre of land in the village of Knodishall (Cnodeshale) called Notekynnesacre. (c. 1300-10.)
