An exemplification of a fine levied at Westminster on the morrow of the Ascension of our Lord, 38 Hen. VI, by which John Godelesforth and Anne his wife acknowledge the right of John Lyhers to a messuage, 200 acres of land, 40 acres of meadow, 60 acres of pasture, and 40 acres of marsh in Tilney, Islyngton, Wygenhale, and Walpole, with the advowson of the chapel of Walpole. Dated at Westminster, 23 January, 33 Henry VIII.

Indenture made 24 September, 27 Elizabeth, by which John Allen of Glemsford demises to John Gardener the elder, a piece of ground, part of Tilney grange, to hold the same for 99 years at an annual rent of 3s. 4d.

Indenture dated 28 January, 29 Eliz., by which Charles Cornwaleys sells and sets over to Thomas Kervells , all his interest in a term of years in 68 acres of land in Tilney.

Roger, son of Clement de Poringlond , quit-claims to God and the church of the Blessed Mary of Thetford and the monks there serving God, all his right to the church of Poringlond with appurtenances; for which donation they gave the said Roger 40s. of silver. 14 Ed. I.

THETFORD. Commission from King Hen. VIII to Thomas Boleyn, kt., Viscount Rocheford, &c., and others, to enquire concerning the decay of houses, loss of rents, &c. of the town of Thetford, parcel of the duchy of Lancaster. Dated 16 Feb., 18 year of the king's reign.

Robert Audeley, clerk, master of the college or chantry of Thomson , with the consent of the brethren, grants to King Henry VIII the whole of the said chantry with the house, site, &c., and all that belongs to it. Dated 3 July, 32 Hen. VIII.

TUTTINGTOUN, BANNINGHAM, and WRAMPLINGHAM. Composition made the Saturday next before the feast of St. Bartholomew, 32 Ed. I, between Robert Brian de Felmyngham of one part, and John Brun of Tutyngtoun of the other, by which the said Robert grants to the said John, all his tenements and services in Tutyngtoun, Banyngham, and Wramplyngham, paying annually 30s. sterling.

William, the abbot of St. Martin's , and the monastery of Auchi near Aumale, Rouen diocese, remit to John de Ufford the right of both real and personal action against him for the unjust detention of certain of their goods and possessions in England or elsewhere. Dated 25 September, 1350.

WALTON (East). The will of William Baker of Estwalton dated 1552, with probate attached, granted 11 Jan., 23 Sept., 1552-6 6 Ed. VI.

Henry, the prior, and convent of Westacre, recite the documents concerning the appropriation and ordination of the vicarage of the church of Rucham. Dated in their chapter, 7 Ides of May, 1303.

PLUMSTEAD. Matilda Gernun of Blafeld and Gerard her son grant to Sibil, wife of sir John of Little Plumstead , and William his son, for half a mark of silver, the whole of the turbary on either side of "hais brige"(?) which John, father of William, held of them, also various services at Westhahe. (c. 1240-50.)

BURLINGHAM (South). An obligation on the part of John, the prior, and convent of Weybridge, to perform mass and obit, for Alice called of Stoke of Norwich , and others, for her benefaction of lands, rents, and tenements in Southbyrlyngham, after her death, under a penalty of 10 marks, payable to the prior and convent of the Holy Trinity, Norwich. Dated at Weybridge, 23 May, 1379.

WHEATACRE and HAUTBOYS. Thomas Dages (?) grants to sir Thomas Roscelyn, kt.; all his right and reversion which he has in the manors of Whetacre and Hauboys, which the lady Matilda who was the wife of sir Robert Banyard held for her life. Dated at Norwich the Monday on the morrow of Pentecost, 7 Ed. III.

WHITLINGHAM. Robert Osborne of Kyrkeby Bedon grants to Edmund White, esq., Thomas Appilyard , and others, two messuages in Wyklyngham, and 15 pieces of land in Kyrkeby Bedon, also 15 other pieces of land in Kyrkeby Bedon and Framyngham (Framlingham Earl or Framlingham Pigot). Dated 6 Sept., 24 Hen. VIII.

WIGHTON. Admission of Richard Lewthwatt, M.A., to the vicarage of Weighton, co. Norfolk, by Clement Corbett, LL.D., 1646, 27 Feb. 23 Chas. I.

An agreement by the prior and convent of Wyrmegeye for the payment of an annual pension of 3s. 4d. to the bp. of Norwich for the half of the church of Fordham, appropriated to that priory. date of month of Oct. Dated 1347.

John, son of sir Thomas de Heigheton , kt., with the consent of Clericia his wife, confirms to Henry, son of Richard of Wramplingham , and Augustine his brother, a piece of land lying in the fields of Wramplingham; paying annually to them and their heirs 3½d., and to Basilia de Tudenham and her heirs 2½d. (c. 1280.)

WROXHAM. William de Keyneto grants to Hugh fitz-Reginald of Wroxham the whole of the land which Reginald his father held in the village of Wroxham, paying annually 3 shillings. (c. 1220-30.)

WICKMERE. Thomas le Jay of Wykemere grants to Bartholomew Quyt of Wlterton one piece of land in Wykemere, paying annually 2d. Easter eve, 21 Ed. I.

Robert, the abbot, and convent of St. Bennet of Hulme, assign an annual payment of 20s. to the prior and convent of Norwich for the settlement of disputes between them, relating to the tithes of the lordships of Richard de la Rokele and Robert de Curt , knights, in Cruchestoke. Dated 1239.

Quit-claim from William, the abbot, and convent of St. Bennet of Hulme to sir John White, kt., of all actions, &c., to the date of these presents. Dated at the monastery of St. Bennet of Hulme the Sunday next after the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, 16 Rich. II.

KELESHALE [Suffolk]. Indenture between John de Framlyngham, rector of Keleshale, Norwich diocese , of the one part, and lady Mary de Wyngefeld, the prioress, and nuns of Caumpesse, of the other concerning the grant by him to the priory of the manor and advowson of Karleton near Keleshale, in pursuance of letters of licence from Edw. III, for the foundation of a chantry in the church of Keleshale in which three chaplains are to celebrate daily for the soul of Alice de Henand late countess Mareschall, and the soul of the grantor after his death; the advowson to remain in possession of the priory. The grantor is received as a confrater of the priory, Thomas de Dicleburgh is appointed the first principal chaplain. Copies of the identure to be kept by the prior of Norwich cathedral, in the priory of Buttele, in the abbeys of Leiston and Sibeton, in the priory of Snape, and in the churches of Karleton and Framlyngham. Not dated. [The King's licence was granted 26 March 6 Edw. III (1332).]

METHELWODE. Ordination respecting the vicarage of Methelwode by Ralph [Walpole], bp. of Norwich ; the Prior and Convent of Castleacre to have the rectory house, all the land belonging to the rector, and all the tithes of corn; the vicar to have the rest, excepting a portion paid paid to the prior and conv. of Lewes. Dated at Eccles, 2 Non. August, 1291.

NORWICH. Decree by William, bishop of Norwich , for the union of the churches of St. Swithin and of St. Simon and Jude, Norwich to the church of Crosthwayt in perpetuity and the deanery of Taverham to that of Norwich on account of the poverty of the several places, which are now vacant upon the death of Thomas Silvestre who has held all five together. Dated in the chapter-house of Norwich, 3 Kl. Sept., 1329.
