Decision. Owston, abbey of Augustinian canons. St. Maur's day, 1236/7 (1237). . Decision of the priors of Leicester, Belver, and Bredon, to whom the cause had been delegated by Pope Gregory IX, in a dispute between the abbot and convent of Osolviston, and the prioress and convent of St. Michael of Stanford, concerning an annual rent of one mark. [Endorsement: For the mill of Moston [endorsement] [which is adjudged to be due to the priory.]

Grant. Ewerby (Lincolnshire). Grant from Sir Robert de Tibethot, kt., to Sir John de Ry, for his homage and service, the whole of his manor of Houstorpe in the village of Ywarby, with all its appurtenances, as freely as Reginald de la Launde formerly held it of Sir Richard de Haya; paying annually one pair of gilt spurs or 6d. at the feast of St. Botulph. For this grant the said John gave to him £309 and the said Robert guaranteed him against all debts and demands due from the said manor up to the day of SS. Simon and Jude, 46 Hen. [III].

Inquisition. Stamford (Northumberland) (manor). Monday on the morrow of the Holy Trinity, 33 Ed. III (1359). . Inquisition taken at Neuton near the sea before Thomas de Musco-Campo and Thomas Galoun, collectors of the aid granted to the king at the making of his eldest son a knight the Monday on the morrow of the Holy Trinity, 33 Ed. III, concerning the barony formerly John Vescont's in the villages of Staumford, Emyldon, Burton, Warndam, Grancestir and Dunstan, held of the king in capite for 3 knights' fees.

Agreement. Mottisfont, priory of Austin canons. Monday next after the feast of St. Barnabas [13 June], 28 Ed. I (1300). . Agreement made between Sir Reginald de St. Martin, kt., son and heir of William de St. Martin, and Robert, son of John Walraund, with William, the prior, and convent of Motesfont, concerning a certain common of pasture in Westdune, upon a meeting of their common friends in the church of All Saints of Westdune, after a law-suit brought by the former by writ of novel disseisin, the plaintiffs releasing all their right in the said common to the priory, in return for a release of land extending from the head of a certain furlong to a brook leading from the High Wood towards Westdune.

Grant. Gunthorpe (Nottinghamshire), Lowdham (Nottinghamshire), Caythorpe (Nottinghamshire). Monday on the vigil of the Nativity of St. John, 17 Ric. II (1393). . Grant from Isabella, daughter of Thomas Clerke of Sybthorp, formerly wife of John Wymbyssh of Gunthorp, to John Colyn of Assewell, called John Wymbyssh of Loudeham, and Alice his wife a capital messuage and other lands and tenements in Gunthorp, Loudham, Cathorp, and elsewhere in the county of Notts, which she had for her life by the gift and feoffment of William, parson of the church of Netherbroughton, reserving certain conditions and an annual rent of 13s 4d. Dated at Gunthorp.

Grant. Wothorpe, Benedictine priory. Sunday next after the feast of St. James, 27 Ed. III (1353). . Indenture made between Agnes Bowes, prioress of St. Mary of Wyrthorp, of the one part, and Alan Brotherhous of Wyrthorp, of the other, witnessing that the said prioress and convent with the consent of John, rector of the church of Martynesthorp, guardian of the said prioress and house, have granted to the same Alan for his life, 1 1/2 acre of meadow in the fields of Eston and Wyrthorp. Dated at Wyrthorp.

Inquisition. Brampton (Huntingdonshire) (manor). 4 October, 22 Ed. III (1348). . Inquisition taken at Huntingdon before Guido de Seyncler, escheator of the counties of Hunts and Cambridge, 4 October, 22 Ed. III, by the oaths of John Dike and others, who say that Laurence de Hastyniges, late earl of Pembroke, held in his demesne as of fee the day he died, the manor of Brampton in the co. of Huntingdon, of the king in capite by the service of two knights' fees; and there is a ruinous chief messuage there, worth nothing, and the lands (described in full) etc., are worth in annual rents £41 19s 2 1/4d; and the said jury say the earl died the Friday on the feast of the beheading of St. John the Bapt. last past, and that John de Hastynges is his son and heir, aged one year and more.

Memorandum, papal bull, grant. Slawston (Leicestershire). Sunday next after the octave of Easter, 1257 (1257). . Memorandum to H[enry of Lexington], bp. of Lincoln, from Alexander de Ferenter, canon of St. Paul's, London, reciting a bull of pope Alexander IV, dated Lateran, iij Non. Jan., 3rd year of his pontificate (1257), for the granting to the abbey of Peterborough the appropriation of the rectory of Slawston, worth ten marks yearly, and of the annexation which has now been made on the resignation of Robert, sub-prior of Osolveston, the late rector. Dated at Slawston.

Pedigree and notes of evidences. London Charterhouse. [c. 1400?] (1400). . Pedigree and notes of evidences relating to the family of Constantyn, and their tenements, etc., in Pentecostlane, London, which tenements, by release from John Constantyn, came to the prior and convent of the Carthusians, London, from Petronilla Constantyn and her husband John Northampton.

Grant. Normanby by Owmby (Lincolnshire) (manor). [c. 1290-1300] (1300). . Grant from Sir John de Arderne, kt., to John, son of Walter Bek of Normanby and his heirs or assigns, except religious and the chief lords of the fee, his manor of Normanby near Ouneby, with all its appurtenances ; paying annually to him and his heirs 20 pounds of silver.

Grant and Quitclaim. Wath (Yorkshire, North Riding). [c. 1250] (1250). . Grant and quitclaim of Adam de Novo Mercato [Newmarket] to William of Flanders [le Fleming, "Flandrensi"] all his right in two parts of the church of Wat. [Ralph de Normanville, knt., a witness, died in 1259.]

Grant from Osmund de Stutevile, rector of Cotingham, to John 'nutrito meo' the whole of his land and tenement with appurtenances which he had by the gift and sale of Saer de Hesel, son of William de Sutton, kt. [see his Inquisition post mortem of 1268], in the villages and territories of Hesel, Traneby, Elvesle, and Swaneslund, with buildings, windmill, etc. [Sir Saer de Sutton, a witness, was dead in 1292].
