Samson de Alretun , and William his son, and Ragenilda his wife confirm to Alexander, the abbot, and the monks of Kyrkestal, in frankalmoigne, two carucates of land in West Alretun, paying annually one mark, and one oxgang in the other Alretun. [Alexander, abbot 1147-1182.] (c. 1160-70) .

Adam, son of William, son of Samson de Alreton , grants to St. Mary and the monks of Kirkestall, in frankalmoigne, 20s. of annual rent formerly held by them from the village of Alreton. (c. 1210-20.)

Charter reciting the contention in the year of grace 1259, between sir Hugh, the abbot, and the convent of Kyrkestall, of the one part, and Robert the son of Richard le Blund of Alreton of the other, concerning the liberties, rights, and easements belonging to one bovate of land in Alreton which the said Robert holds as successor of his father and which are now granted to him by the said abbot and convent. William, son of William de Alreton , remits and quit-claims to the abbot and monks of Kyrkestall all right in one bovate of land, one acre and one essart in Alreton, of the gift of Henry the chaplain of Thornover . (c. 1250-60.)

William, son of Nicholas de Alretun , grants to John, son of Adam de Cukeric , and his heirs, one bovate of land in Alretun in free marriage with Silke his daughter, doing the service due from the bovate, whence 16 carucates make one knight's fee. (c. 1220-30.)

LEEDS. William Ledes, esq., and Joan his wife grant to Thomas Symson of Ledes, draper, one burgage and half an acre of land lying upon Burmantoftes. Dated at Ledes, 14 July, 5 Hen. VI.

John Vavasour and four others grant to Peter Symson one burgage in Ledes and half an acre of land lying upon le Burmantoftes, which they had by the gift of the said Peter. Dated 3 April, 15 Ed. IV.

Letia, formerly wife of Alan servant (servientis) of Neuton , grants and quitclaims to Richard, son of Elyas , at the wood of Alverton, for a sum of money all right and claim which she has in land and a tenement which Alan her husband sold to Richard the Forester del Runhay . (c. 1260-70.) .

BRAMLEY and HEDINGLEY. Letters patent of Queen Elizabeth , dated at Westminster, 1 April, 34 of her reign, granting to John Savile and Thomas Hynchclyffe for 13s. 4d. a licence of alienation of 23 acres of certain lands in Bramley and Hedingley to Robert Walshe and Robert Crowther . [Mutilated.]

Notification by William [Greenfield], archbishop of York, of definitive sentence in favour of the claim of the priory of Holy Trinity, York, to the churches of Leeds, York St Trinity, Bilbrough, and a moiety of Hootton Pagnel, pensions from Leeds, Adel, and Wintringham, and tithes in Aberford and Barton-le-Street. Dated at Bishop Burton, 5 kal. Apr. [28 March] 1311.

Award by Dr Hugh Weston, Dr William Cliff, and Mr William Grinestede, in arbitration between the dean and chapter of Christ Church, Oxford, and John Thorneton, vicar of Leeds, concerning £10 annual pension from the church of Leeds, parcel of the possessions of the dissolved priory of Holy Trinity, York, granted by Henry VIII to Christ Church on 11 Dec. 1546. John to pay the pension from henceforth with arrears of £16. Dated 24 Nov. 1 Mary [1553].

Leeds.. The Dean and Chapter of S. Peter’s, York, confirm to the monastery of Holy Trinity, York, everything that Jordan Paganel , his sons William and Jordan , and their men, may have granted, particularly the church of Leeds. ⟨c. 1170–90.⟩

Leeds.. R[ichard] abbot of Selby , H. treasurer, and L. canon of York , at the command of Pope Innocent III ([9] Dec. [1204]) have passed judgment in a dispute between the priory and the Abbey of Kirkstall over an agreement by which the Abbey was to pay 20/- for the tithes of 4 carucates of land in West Hadinglai, ½ ploughland in East Hadinglai, 2 carucates in West Allerton, and 1 bovate in East Allerton, and to pay tithe for any further land acquired in that parish (Leeds). The Abbey, accused of withdrawing the 2 ploughlands in East Allerton, objected that they had received the tithes and paid the rent for 50 years with right unshaken. It is now decreed that the Priory shall grant to the Abbey the tithes of grain and vegetables from the 2 ploughlands in East Allerton, in exchange for the tithes of 2 ploughlands of land in West Allerton, and that the Abbey shall pay 3/- more, and shall remit the tithes of 18 acres and one oxgang in East Allerton.. ⟨1204–5.⟩
