Alice Neve, widow, late wife of John Prymour, and John and William Mortoft grant to John Sannowe of Bedingham (Bedyngham) and two others all those messuages, lands, &c. in Lound, Blundeston, and Ashby (Askeby), as by a charter dated 20 Jan., 14 Hen. VII (1499), appears; to be conveyed to the said Alice on her marriage by banks to William C(?)olandour (?). Dated at Lound, 20 May, 12 Hen. VI (1434)H.

Thomas Hodyson, clerk, rector of Lound, at the instance of certain inhabitants of Lound grants to John Warde a messuage and a croft and six pieces of land in Lound and three pieces in the fields of Ashby (Askeby). Dated 28 April, 38 Hen. VIII (1546).

Thomas Spycer of Lowestoft (Lowystoft) grants to Thomas Jecks, husbandman, all his lands and tenements in Lound and Hopton St Margaret (Hopton). Dated at Lound, 16 January 3 Ed. II.

Robert Bugge sells to sir John Jernegan, knight, a tenement called Guntons, with all meadows, lands, pastures, &c. in Lound, Ashby (Askeby), and Blundeston (Blondston). Dated 10 ... 37 Hen. VIII.

Thomas Jeckys of Lound (Lownde), son and heir and executor of the will of Henry Jeckys of Kirstead (Kyrsted), sells to George Jernegan two pieces of land lying in Lound (Lownde). Dated at Lound (Lownde), 7 March, 1 Ed. VI (1547).

Joan Bukmonger of Lound (Lownde), widow, grants to George Jernegan, esq., one piece of land containing by estimation half an acre in Lound (Lownde). Dated 2 Ed. VI. [Mutilated and partially illegible.]

William Starys sells to Thomas Jecks of Lound one piece of land containing by estimation 4 acres, and another piece lying in Lound called le Hedstrych. Dated at Lound, 31 Jan., 3 Ed. VI (1549).

Indenture of agreement made 8 April, 23 Elizabeth (1581), made between Roger Castell, esq., to sir Will. Brook, lord Cobham, John Brooke alias Cobham, his brother, and Edmund Bedingfield, esq. by which R. Castell undertakes to infeoff the said John Brooke alias Cobham and others, of and in the manor of Stalham's in Lound (Stallams) in Lound (Lownd), and of and in the advowson of the parish church of Lound (Lownd), with all lands and tenements in Lound (Lownd), and in Blundeston, Herringfleet (Heringflete), and Hopton St Margaret (Hopton), which were of the inheritance of one John Jernegan of Somerleyton, to hold the same to the use of Katherine, wife of the said John Jernegan, for her life, and at her decease for the use of the daughters of the said John. Katherine Jernegan, widow, late wife of John Jernegau, sells to John Wentworth the whole of the manor of Stalham's in Lound (Stalhams) in Lound (Lownde), with the advowson of the church of Lound (Lownde), also all lands belonging to the said manor situated within the parishes of Blundeston, Herringfleet (Heryngfleete), and Hopton St Margaret (Hopton). Dated and signed, 22 May, 41 Elizabeth (1599).

Katherine Jernegan, widow of John Jernegan of Somerleyton (Somerleton), in consideration of a certain sum of money in hand paid, confirms to John Wentworth, son and heir apparent of John Wentworth, esq., the whole of her messuage, lauds, &c. in Lound (Lounde), late in the occupation of James Towne. Dated (and signed) 22 May, 41 Elizabeth (1599).

John Wentworth of Somerleyton (Somerleton) discharges Katherine Jernegan, widow of John Jernegan of Somerleyton (Somerleton), from all suits during her life upon a bond given for the performance of certain covenants by her third daughter Katherine wife of Wymond Carey, esq. respecting the manor called Stalham's in Lound (Stalhams in Lound). Dated 2 Nov., 41 Q. Eliz.

John atte Gappe of Great Yarmouth (Great Jernemuth) and others infeoff Thomas de Gunton of Lound in one messuage and six pieces of land in Somerleyton (Somerleton) and Lound. Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton), 5 Jan., 3 Hen. IV (1402).

Gilbert Debenham, John Rokewode, and William Bacoun grant to Margaret, who was the wife of John Gernegan of Somerleyton (Somerleton) , their manors of Somerleyton (Somerleton) and Horham Jernegan's (Horham), with the foundation of St. Olave's priory, Heringfleet ... in Somerleyton (Somerleton), Blundeston, Lound, Ashby (Askeby), Herringfleet (Heringfleet) and elsewhere in the hundred of Mutford and Lothingland Hundred (Lothynglond), which they lately had by feoffment of John Gernegan, &c. John Yve and Thomas Bolle, clerks, demise to John Gernegon of Somerleyton (Somerleton), esq., and Margaret his wife, their manor of Somerleyton (Somerleton), with the priory of Heringfleet and the advowson of the churches of Somerleyton (Somerleton) and Bradwell (Braddell), with lands in Somerleyton (Somerleton), Blundeston, Lound, &c. ated 10 August, 14 Hen. VI (1436).

Sir John Hevenyngham, kt., and others (as in Ch. Suffolk 1105) demise and confirm to Henry Gray of Ketteringham (Keteryngham) and others the whole of the manor of Somerleyton (Somerleton), together with the foundation of the priory of St. Olive of Heryngflet, the advowson of the church of Somerleyton (Somerleton), and all the lands in Somerleyton (Somerleton), Blundeston, Lound, Ashby (Askeby), Herringfleet (Heryngflete), and Bradwell (Bradewell). Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton) the Thursday next after the Invention of the Cross, 23 Hen. VI.

John Jernegan, senior, esq., grants to sir John Hevenyngham, kt., and others, his manor of Somerleyton (Somerleton), with the foundation of the priory of St. Olave of Heryngflete and the advowson of Somerleyton, together with all rents, services, &c. in the villages of Somerleyton, Blundeston, Lound, Ashby (Askeby), Herringfleet (Heryngflete), and Bradwell. Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton) the Sunday next before the feast of St. Gregory, pope, 49 Hen. VI, and 1st of his readeption of his power.

John Jetour, junior, of Lowestoft, John Bowde of Gunton and John Staunton demise to John Jernegan of Hatfield (Hatfeld), esq., and others, messuages, lands, and tenements, &c., in the villages of Somerleyton (Somerleton), Lound, Ashby (Askeby), and Blundeston, which were Robert Owden's, late of Somerleyton, in fulfilment of his will. Dated at Somerleyton (Somerleton), 11 April, 15 Hen. VIII (1524).

BECCLES and LOUND. Katherine Rose, formerly wife of Thomas Rose of Beccles (Becclis), confirms to sir William de Ely, parson of Beccles (Becclis), Robert Lyster, and Roger atte Lee, all her messuages, lands, tenements, &c. in the villages of Beccles (Becclis) and Lound (Lounde). Dated at Beccles (Becclis) the Sunday next after the feast of St. Michael, 17 Rich. II.

John, son and heir of Edward Jernegan, esq., grants to Robert Drury, William Waldegrave, and others his manors of Horham Jernegan's (Little Horham), Little Stonham (Stonham Jernegan), Newton, Corton (Gorton), and Lound (Lownde), with other lands, to the use of Bridget Jernegan, wife of John, for her life. Dated 10 May, 13 Hen. VIII (1521).
