DUNWICH, co. Suffolk. Nicholas, dean of Donewice , grants to the church and canons of St. Mary Oseney, in frankalmoigne, one place within his court at Donewica for curing herrings and other things as they think necessary, viz. that place which lies next the house of Richard de Hechus , which extends itself in length from the grantor's stable to the ditch of Dionisius, and in breadth 30 feet; also he gives to the said canons 2s. annual rent in the same village. (c. 1210.) Witn. Robert de Tiwa, archdeacon, "Petro filio meo", etc.

DUNSTEW. Stephen de Donestiva grants to Peter, son of Stephen the priest of Orton , two virgates of land in Donestiva with appurtenances, one of which 2 virgates the said Stephen the priest held of the grantor which is of his demesne, together with a messuage near the house of Wimund , paying annually for the same 3s.; and the other virgate that Ailwin held, which the said Stephen gave to Emma mother of Peter, and is now held by the said Peter, paying annually also 3s. For this grant the said Peter gave one mark of silver. (c. 1200.) .

Peter de Shipton, son of Stephen, the priest, of Orton , grants to the church and canons of Oseney, the donation which Ralph de Melkesham made to them of one virgate of land in Donestiwe, which was of the lordship of Stephen Runcin , with a messuage near the house of Wimund de Donestiwe , which land the said Ralph deraigned by a certain assise before Mart. de Pateshall and others, the King's justices at Oxford against the said Peter and Roger Runcin and Henry Ruf[fus] ; paying annually one pair of gloves of the value of one halfpenny. (c. 1225-30.) Henry Ruffus is a witness.

An agreement between the abbot and convent of Oseney, owners of two parts of the tithes of Dunstywe, and the prior and convent of Merton, proprietors and rectors of the church of Dunstywe, by which the abbot and convent of Oseney make over the said tithes for an annual payment of 26s. 8d. in perpetuity. [Mutilated.] Dated 27 June, the 21st of Henry VI.

Oxon, which were lately assigned to them by Robert Smythfeld, citizen and grocer of London . Dated 27 May, 19 Ed. IV.
