CHALGRAVE. Articles of agreement between the dean and chapter of Christ Church and Roger Quatermayn of Chalgrave, co. Oxon, yeoman, of the one part, and William Standisshe of Oxford, gent., of the other part, agreed 16 May, 3rd Q. Elizabeth, to abide the award of Edmund Plowden as to how far the portion of tithes called Becco herlewyn or Beckharvest tithes in Chalgrave do extend and be leviable; with bond for 100 given by William Standisshe attached.

Chalgrove. Letters patent of Edward I granting the advowson of Chalgrove to the abbey of Thame, for the support of the 6 monks there, and that they may pray daily for the soul of Piers Gaveston, Earl of Cornwall, who died in the abbey. Given at Wodestok. By writ of P.S. 29 June ⟨1317.⟩

Chalgrove. Confirmation by Walter, abp. of Canterbury , of a sentence pronounced by Master Richard de Hunsingore, official of the archdeacon of Oxford , and dated 5 Kal. April, 1320, against Ralph, rector of Fletmerston at the suit of Thame Abbey concerning tithes coming from the lands of Sir John Neyrunt, kt., and Robert Verney , in Fletmerston, as well as from the lands of Sir William Blount, kt., in the same, all pertaining to the church of Chalgrove. Walter had authorized the official to proceed against Ralph de Stretle , then rector, by letters dated at Selby 2 Kal. March 1309. Given at Lamebeth. ⟨29 June⟩ 1321.
