This prose or sequence in honour of the Virgin Mary was in common use from the end of the twelfth century. f. 1. d. A rental of the lands assigned to the Chapel of S. Mary, between 1250–1288. It is here given in full because it provides a terminus ante quem for dating grants of land to the Chapel. ‘Memorandum quod anno domini 1250 in vigilia s.
