Preston. Memorandum of a return made by the archdeacon of Northampton to R., bp. of Lincoln , that whereas Geoffrey de Hanvyle had presented Matthew de Glynham, King’s clerk, to the rectory of Preston, by an inquiry it was found that the said rectory was not vacant and that the patronage belonged to D⟨aventry⟩ . Given at Norton. ⟨10 Nov.⟩ 1266.

Preston. Memorandum of an agreement between master ... rector of Marsh, co. Bucks, and Sir Alexander, perpetual vicar of Great Preston , about the tithes of Little Preston. Given at D⟨aventry⟩ . ⟨25 April⟩ 1292. An inquisition subjoined in another hand, taken at Preston, concerning the lands and tithes of Little Preston. ⟨23 April⟩ 1297.

Preston. A public instrument, drawn up by Robert Jordan, notary-public, at London, in the house of Robert de Reddeswelle opposite the Church of St. Stephen in Colman Street, being an agreement between D⟨aventry⟩ and Master William Bacheler, rector of Mersch , in settlement of a suit about tithes of the demesne in Little Preston commenced by the late Rector. 10 June 1319.

John Falcok, of Preston near Wyngham , grants to Alexander Norman, wax-chandler of Sandwich , half an acre and half a rood of land in the parish of Preston. Dated at Preston, 19 March, 3 Hen. V.

Preston. Robert, prior &c. of D⟨aventry⟩ grant to Richard of Linns for his homage and service, a place in Preston and two acres of land in the same which William Hert once held from them, viz.: 1 acre above le Gonbyshul, and the other at Caldewellepayd. PRESTON (Little). An acknowledgment given by William Weston, rector of the church of Mersh, co. Bucks , to the prior and convent of Daventre of the receipt of 33s. 4d. for an annual pension for the tithes of Little Preston. Dated 12 (?) Nov., 21 Ed. IV.

Adjournment to St. Frideswide’s, Oxford, on Tuesday after the Sunday on which is sung ‘Judica me deus’ [9 March]. 7 Feb. 1315. On that day D⟨aventry⟩ produced 4 witnesses: brother Peter de Horpole , Henry de Kibbeworth, chaplain, Walter Selle of D⟨aventry⟩ , and Robert Coke of Preston . Accused produced none. Adjournment till Tuesday after the Sunday on which is sung ‘Misericordia domini’ [13 April], in St. Margaret’s, Leicester, and then to the court-day after 3 May, in All Saints.
