WEDNORTON, THIMBILTHORP, FELSHAM, &c. Deed dated 4 June, 22 Ed. IV, by which Margery Dokking, widow, late wife of John Dokking, gent., and daughter unto William Stiward of Owton, gent., acknowledges and confirms the sale of lands made by her husband to William Paston in the town and fields of Wednorton, Thimblethorp, Felsham, Hindolveston, Giste, Geystwight, Stiberde, Yaxham, Langham, Sithinge, and Felthorp.

  • (iii) Wendlynge.

• 7. In Northants. and Bedfordshire, annuities from the rectories of Haringworthe, and Copull [Cople].
• 8. In Cheshire, the rectory of Runcorn, and in Gloucester that of Allesworth.
• 9. In Yorkshire, lately of Richard Morrysone , and once of the hospital of St. James (Northallerton), Romanby, Osmundesley [Osmotherley], Silton, Nunhouse, Thornton, Northetringtone, Ellerbeck, Twyselle, Long Newtone.

The book was made as a ‘Boke of Requests’, and shows that Ch. Ch. were claiming about £70 from these properties.

⟨Hen. VIII.⟩ A paper book ff. 1–14: 4d.–9, 11d.–12 are blank. Extracts from Court Rolls of Woodnorton and Stibberd, consisting of admissions to villein tenements, of various dates between 12–35 Hen. VIII. (ff. 1–4).

• (9d–11) A lease by Richard Southwell Esq. of Woodrysinge (Norfolk) to Robert Man and Richard Hoo of his manor of Woodnorton and the manor house, Norton Hall, for 12 years. Rent: £11/6/8.
• (12d.–13) Letters patent of Hen. VIII appointing Thomas Jenour , bailiff and collector of rents of his manor of Woodnorton and East Walton, late of Richard Southwell , at 60/- a year for life. Witness: Edward North, kt. Given at Westminster 27 May, [1545].
• (14-14d.) Memoranda of sale of the wood at W. to Robert Manne by Nicholas Cutteler Esq., general woodward of the King in Norfolk and Suffolk. 30 March 1 Ed. VI.
