Inquisition. Brampton (Huntingdonshire) (manor). 4 October, 22 Ed. III (1348). . Inquisition taken at Huntingdon before Guido de Seyncler, escheator of the counties of Hunts and Cambridge, 4 October, 22 Ed. III, by the oaths of John Dike and others, who say that Laurence de Hastyniges, late earl of Pembroke, held in his demesne as of fee the day he died, the manor of Brampton in the co. of Huntingdon, of the king in capite by the service of two knights' fees; and there is a ruinous chief messuage there, worth nothing, and the lands (described in full) etc., are worth in annual rents £41 19s 2 1/4d; and the said jury say the earl died the Friday on the feast of the beheading of St. John the Bapt. last past, and that John de Hastynges is his son and heir, aged one year and more.
