Commission from Wolstan, bishop of Worcester , to the dean of Bibury, to cause an examination to be made of the dilapidations of the chancel and the manse of Bardesley, at the death of Thomas le Heyr, late rector, at the suit of Geoffrey ate Cherche of Great Waltham , the present rector. Dated at Wychindon, 2 Sept., 1341.
An acknowledgment from the abbot and convent of Cirencester that they have received from the abbot of Oseney 26s. 8d. for the church of Bybury and other sums for 3 other churches etc., for the subsidy granted to the King for the defence of the kingdom by the clergy of Canterbury. Dated at Cyrencester, 4 Kl. Feb., 1337.
An acquittance given by Henry de Neubold, clerk, sequestrator of Wolstan, bp. of Worcester , to Thomas de Mannesfeld, keeper of Bibury , for the payment of 12s. for the jurisdiction of Bibury, due to the bishop from the abbey of Oseney. Dated 6 Kl. December, 1348.
Richard de Ledebury, archdeacon of Gloucester , acknowledges that the abbot and convent of Oseney are exempt from archidiaconal jurisdiction for the chapel of Baindesleye within the territory of the church of Bibury, and that they have the right of inducting the rector of Baindesleye. Dated at Ledebury, 5 Kl. Jan., 1353.
An acknowledgment that William Wenlok, prior of the cathedral of St. Mary, Worcester , has received of the abbot and convent of Oseney 30s., annual pension from the church of Bybrye. Dated 4 Nov., 1495.
Inquisition taken at Tetbury, co. Gloucester, before the King's Escheator to ascertain the value of the possessions of the abbot and convent of Oseney at Bibury, in the church etc. valued at £30 clear. Dated Aug., 1482, 22 Ed. IV.

RISINDON (Little), co. Gloucester. Memorandum that in the year 1278, on the vigil of St. Laurence, a convention was made between the abbot and convent of Oseney on the one part, and master Roger de Sowy on the other, viz. that the said master Roger grants and quitclaims for himself, his heirs and assigns, all right in the patronage or advowson of the church in the manor of Little Rysindon, provided that the abbot and convent shall present to the same church any priest or other of fit and good life, who may be willing and able annually to perform priestly functions, under a penalty of deprivation of the benefice. And that they accept security from the person presented to the same, of observing the underwritten articles, at the time they bind him for payment of the pension due to them, namely, that in each week he shall celebrate one mass for the lord of the manor in the said church, provided that the solemn feasts do not hinder, and in mass and one collect daily pray for the souls of William and Sarah, the parents of the said Roger, and also their anniversary mass shall be solemnly celebrated in the same church.
TURKDEN. Robert Bel de Stowell grants to Robert le Bel , his son, one virgate of land in Turkedene, with appurtenances, which Robert de Toreni gave to him, paying annually the service due to the chief lord of the fee, viz. 1 lb. of cummin, which Sara relict of Rondulf the smith holds for her life. Robert de Toreny grants to the church and canons of Oseney a confirmation of the gift which William, son of Henry , his father, made to them of the church of Turkden, in frankalmoigne. (c. 1240.) .
ALDSWORTH, Gloucestershire. Robert, son of Alured de Leche , with the assent of Matilda his wife, grants for himself and heirs, in frankalmoigne, to the church and canons of Oseney, in consideration of the receipt of 10s. one and a half virgate of land with a messuage in the village of Walle, viz. that land which he sometime held of the same canons; paying annually to him and his heirs half a mark. at [Beyber']. (c. 1220.) [Mutilated.] .
William de Waleshal grants to the abbot and convent of St. Mary, Oseney, and to their men of Stanhale, in frankalmoigne, common of pasture for all their cattle in Cleyhunger, with all the privileges which they have in his wood of Solfhull, as in the chirograph made in the King's court (Ch. 250). (c. 1204.) .

Emeric Pauncefot, kt., brother and heir of Grymbald Pauncefot , grants to Walter de la Mor, son of the late John [de la Mor] of Cowarne [Much Cowarne or Little Cowarne] a messuage, land, and common of pasture in Wydenham in the vill and manor of Hasfeld. Dated at Madersfeld on the vigil of Pentecost, 9 Ed. II. [Slightly mutilated.] .

Walter, bishop of Worcester , assigns to the vicarage of Thornbury, which is worth 18 marks 10 shillings, the house once held by Zalibroun, as a vicarage house. The value to be made up to 25 marks in money or wax. The vicar is to pay for books, vestments, and other necessary ornaments, synodal fees to the Archdeacon, and 4 marks a year to the bishop, but is not to be responsible for the repair of the chancel. ⟨12 Aug. 1315.⟩ Endorsed with references to cases in chancery, A.D. 1750 and 1813.
