HUNKINGTON and UPTON. Indenture made 6 November, 9 Chas. I, between Thomas Boothe of Burlaughton, co. Stafford, yeoman, and John his son, of the one part, and Margaret Freeman of Hunkinton , widow, of the other, by which for the sum of £29 all the lands, meadows, &c. known as the Moore lands alias Morleys alias Moordt, and the broad leasowe in Hunkinton and Upton under Haughmond, are assigned to the said Margaret and her heirs for ever.

Indenture made 10 May, 20 James I, between Thomas Shawe of Edgboulton , Margaret his wife, one of the daughters and co-heirs of Thomas Clerke , and Richard Shawe their son, of the one part, and Margaret Freeman of Hunkiton, widow, of the other part, being a sale of certain lands and tenements called Broade-leasowe or Morleys, in the parishes of Upton under Haghmond and Morley or one of them; the consideration being £33 10s. for the same.

Indenture made 7 December, 3 Charles II (1662), that Thomas Freston of Mendham, in consideration of the receipt of £7. 3s. 3d., and an after-payment of £500, releases and confirms to Richard Freston of Mendham, esq., the tithes of the parishes of Mendham, Metfield, and Needham (Nedham) appertayning to the late dissolved monastery of Mendham.

METTFIELD. Deed of sale by Robert Scarlett of Starston (Starston, Norf.), yeoman, to Thomas Freston, of Mendham, esq., of the messuage in Metfield (Mettfield) called Bees or Dukes, and the pightell or piece of land in Mendham called Spinkes pightell, etc. 7 April 3 Charles [I].

WEYBRIDGE. The will of Edward Curson late of Weybread (Waybridge, co. Suffolk), gentleman, dated 1651, to be buried at 26 May, Burnham Overy (Burnham Overy, Norfolk).

NORWICH (City of). Roll (heading gone), containing a list of mayors and sheriffs of Norwich from 1447 26 Hen. VI to 1623 (21 K. James I), together with the following notes (amongst many others) of local and national events: .

1463. The burnyng of Christ Churche, in Norwich, ye first daye of Marche. 1472. Printing of bokes brought into England by William Caxton of London, merchent. 1479. The great pestelense in Norwiche. 1480. The great earthquake upon S. Thomas nyght in the moneth of July. 1506. In ys yere Robt. Adams heretyke was brente: Saint Andrews parish church built. 1507. The greate burnyng of ye citie of Norwyche. 1512. This yere brent ye vestry in Christ Church wt all ye ornaments. 1519. This yere was S. Leonarde floode. 1550. The free schole purchased by the cittye for 100 markes. 1565. This yere came the straungers af the lowe contries to inhabite in this cittie. 1568. The west end of the Guilde hale builded. 1570. This yere was a great flood in Norwich. 1572. This yere was Fybrigge buylded. 1578. This yere came the queenes majestic to Norwch in progresse and made the mayor knyght at hir departure. 1579. A great plague wherupon died in one yeare in Norwich 4918 persons. 1580 A greate earthquake the VI of Aprill. 1583. The water conveied to the Market Crosse. 1591. Sainct Martins bridge builded of stone. The roll ceases in the original hand at 1573 and is thence continued by several hands. Ornamentally written in red and black.

PLUMSTEAD (Little). "A schedule or inventory of all such gould and Jewells as belongeth to the honorable dame Margaret Hobart of Little Plumpstead, in the co. Norffolke, widow, this present [year] 1669, which she disposeth of according to her last will and testament, or otherwise as she shall hereafter bequeth them" .
