Indenture dated 26 October, 20 James I, by which Edmund Suckling the dean, and the chapter of Norwich, demise to Henry Garnham , all their lazar house without the gates of the city of Norwich commonly called Magdalen Gate for his life and the lives of others, paying annually to the said dean and chapter 3s. 4d.

The greate burnyng of ye citie of Norwyche. 1512. This yere brent ye vestry in Christ Church wt all ye ornaments. 1519. This yere was S. Leonarde floode. 1550. The free schole purchased by the cittye for 100 markes. 1565. This yere came the straungers af the lowe contries to inhabite in this cittie. 1568. The west end of the Guilde hale builded. 1570. This yere was a great flood in Norwich. 1572. This yere was Fybrigge buylded. 1578. This yere came the queenes majestic to Norwch in progresse and made the mayor knyght at hir departure. 1579. A great plague wherupon died in one yeare in Norwich 4918 persons. 1580 A greate earthquake the VI of Aprill. 1583. The water conveied to the Market Crosse. 1591. Sainct Martins bridge builded of stone. The roll ceases in the original hand at 1573 and is thence continued by several hands. Ornamentally written in red and black.
