SPELDHURST and HARWARTON. Indenture made Christmas Day, 10 Hen. VIII, by which Richard Roston., LL.D., master, and the brethren of Corpus Christi College, nigh the parish of St. Lawrence Poultney, London, demise unto William Waller of Growmbrigge (i.e. Groombridge) co. Kent their manors of Spelhurst and Harwarton for 20 years, at an annual rent of 56s. 8d.

BOW. Indenture made 19 May, 36 Hen. VIII, by which sir William Roche, kt., alderman of London and master of the Drapers' Company, and others of that company demise to Henry Phillips, citizen and haberdasher of London , a shop in the parish of Bow, London, for 20 years, at an annual rent of 5.

Indenture by which sir John Champeneys, knyght, alderman of the city of London and master of the guild of Corpus Christi of the company of skinners of London , and others, demise to Barnard Jenyn, citizen and skinner of London , a great tenement in which the said Barnard now dwelleth, and other tenements in Watling Street in the parish of St. Antholin, for 20 years, at an annual rent of £10 7s. 8d. Dated 9 November, 1537.

London. Richard, abbot &c. of Nottleley (Bucks.) lease to John Longlond of Northe Wynchyndon, yeoman, a tenement in Friday Street, London, called ’the abbot of Nottleley is lodgyng’, in which Richard Fytthette dwelt, from Michaelmas next for 61 years. Rent: 20/-. 27 Sept. ⟨1538.⟩

Lease to Thomas Crompton Esq., of London , a tenement with garden and stable in the parish of S. Sepulchre’s without Newgate, lately held by Sir Robert Rede, kt., and now occupied by the said Thomas. For 40 years. Rent: £5. 1 Oct. ⟨1594.⟩

Roll of two membranes : (a) Sums of money paid out of the exchequer to John Hawkins, esq., treasurer for the Queen for sea services, from the last day of December, 1578, to the last day of December, 1579, amounting to £8124 1s. 6d. (b) An account of £8104 l0s. paid out of the exchequer to sir Marmaduke Darrell and sir Thomas Bludder , kts., for the victualling of the Navy, for one year, 1 Jan., to last Dec., 1611, 8-9 James I.; signed by W. Bingley .
