William Felter, Doctor of Decrees, of the church of York , testifies after examination consequent upon an archiepiscopal visitation that Boulton ought to hold the churches of Kildewyk, Preston, Horwode, and Skypton, with the chapel of Carletone, to their own use. 26 Nov. 1441.

Broughton.. The rectors of Bolton in Lowland and Marton in Craven have, on the receipt of letters from John archbishop of York (given at his manor of Ripon, 21 Aug. 1442), ascertained by inquisition in the church of Skipton (27 Aug. 1442) that the church of Broughton which John Thewayt Esq. wished to give to the priory of B⟨olton⟩ , is worth, in land, 40/-, and in tithes &c. £13/6/4: that it should pay to the archbishop 14/2, to the King for a tenth 20/6, and that there are many burdens which they cannot estimate.
