Indenture witnessing that Thomas Celyng and Agnes his wife grant to farm to Deonisia, mother of Agnes, all their lands, &c. in Little Waldingfield (Little Waldingfeld) for the term of her life. Dated at Colchester the Thursday next after the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, 43 Ed. III (20 Sept. 1369).

James ... grants to Adam Gauge and Juliana his wife of Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfeld) one croft and a way in Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfeld). Dated at Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfeld), 2 January, 7(?) Rich. II (1384?). [In part obliterated.]

Margaret Botiller is bound to sir Thomas Mortimer, William Forde, clerk, and Robert Hethe, in a sum of £40. Dated ..., 12 Rich. II. [Partly obliterated.]

Richard Rethold (?) and Isabella (?) his wife grant to John Apilton and others a messuage and lands in Great Waldingfield (Great Waldingfield ) and Little Waldingfield. Dated at Little Waldingfield, 25 Sept., 23 Rich. II (1399).

Robert Dilhegges of Wissett (Wyssete) grants to the lady Petronilla de Nerford and her heirs, a capital messuage in Wissett (Wyssete) with arable lands, woods, fields, &c. which he has in the villages of Wyssete, Rumburgh, Spexhall (Spectishale), Halesworth (Halesworthe) and Holton supplying him with sustenance during his life and half a mark yearly for shoes. Dated at Wissett (Wyssete) the Wednesday next before the feast of St. Mark the evangelist, 4 Ed. II (21 Apr. 1311).

Robert de Vlendene of Coddenham (Codenham) grants to Robert Spake of the same place, for his service and a certain sum of money, two pieces of land in Coddenham (Codenham) in the field called 'Haylond.' Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday next after the feast of the Invention of the Cross, 2 Ed. II (4 May 1309).

Mabel, daughter of Matilda Clare (?) of Coddenham (Codenham) , remits and quit-claims to Nicholas Spake all her right in certain land called Cokyslond in Coddenham (Codenham). Dated the Wednesday next before the feast of St. Francis, 3 Ed. II (1 Oct. 1309).

Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday next before the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 4 Ed. II (20 June 1311).

Marieta, who was the wife of Robert Dolfin of Creeting St Mary (Cretingges St. Mary) , grants to William del Bosco of the same place and Christine all her right in a piece of land in Coddenham (Codenham). Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday before the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 4 Ed. II (20 June 1311).

Walter Bugg of Coddenham (Codenham) grants to Nicholas Spake of the same place one piece of land lying in Coddenham (Codenham). Dated the Friday next after the feast of Epiphany, .. Ed. II. [Mutilated.]

Ralph Sunday of Coddenham (Codinham) grants to Nicholas Spake of the same place, and Joan his younger daughter, one piece of land in Coddenham (Codinham). Dated the Friday on the feast of the Epiphany, 11 Ed. II (6 Jan. 1318).

Mabel, formerly wife of Richard le Flur of Coddenham (Codenham), grants to Robert Spake of Coddenham (Codenham), for a certain sum of money, two pieces of land lying in the parish of Coddenham (Codenham). Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday next after the feast of the Conception of the B. V. M., 11 Ed. II (11 Dec. 1317).

Thomas de la Grene of Coddenham (Codenham) grants to Robert Spake of Coddenham (Codenham) one curtilage with its appurtenances in Coddenham (Codenham). Dated there the Thursday on the feast of the Nativity of the B. V. M., 11 Ed. II (8 Sept. 1317).

Ralph de Bockyngg grants to John de Ponte of Coddenham (Codenham) the whole field of 'Prestefeld' in Coddenham (Codenham). Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) .... before the feast of the apostles SS. Simon and Jude, 16 Ed. II (... Oct. 1322).

Agnes Bernard and Isabella her daughter of Coddenham (Codenham) remit and quitclaim to William Sewyne of the same village all their right in three pieces of land in Coddenham (Codenham), with one pyttel, and rents of 18d, one day's work in autumn, and one hen at Christmas. Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday next after the feast of the Purification of the B. V. M., 4 Ed. III (4 Feb. 1330).

Edward Harneys of Coddenham (Codinham) grants to Nicholas Benselyn, chaplain, of the same village, his serf John Stanbowe with all that belongs to him. Dated at Coddenham (Codinham) the Sunday next after the Purification of the Virgin, 11 Ed. III (9 Feb. 1337).

Nicholas Bencelyn, chaplain of Coddenham (Codinham), manumits John Stanbowe of the same place, and all his goods, chattels, and whatsoever belongs to him. Dated at Coddenham (Codinham) the Sunday next after the feast of the Invention of the Cross, 11 Ed. III (4 May 1337).

Richard de Burghstede, parson of Framlingham at the Castle (Framelingham at the Castter), grants to Edmund de St. Clauo, son and heir of John de St. Clauo, and Agnes his wife, all his lands, rents, &c. in the villages of Coddenham (Codenham), Crowfield (Croffeld), Creeting St Mary (Creeting St. Mary), Creeting All Saints, Creeting St Olave (Creeting St. Olave), Earl Stonham (Stonham Earls), Stonham Aspal (Stonham Antegaine), and Little Stonham (Stonham Gernegan). Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Sunday after the feast of All Saints, 11 Ed. III (2 Nov. 1337). (Clauo: see MS. Ch. Suffolk 522b, his name occurs frequntly. On 522b and in 635 the name is clearly written "Clavo". In many other deeds it is very uncertain.)

Dated at Coddenham (Codenham) the Friday next after the feast of St. [Martin] 15 Ed. III (16 Nov. 1341).
