William Pyn, junior, of Norton grants to John Rede of the same ½ acre of arable land with its headrigs and meadow in the West field of Norton, over Farlithil (?) under Borow between the land of the prior of D⟨aventry⟩ and that of the prior of Combe. Norton. The same grants to the same ½ acre 1½ roods of arable land viz. ½ acre in Norton over Marsdaleforlong between the land of John Whytyng and that of John Morcote which they hold from Sir Brien Cornybye , and of which ½ acre the headrig extends as far as Marsdaleselade: the 1½ roods lie above the shot which reaches to Aylushulle by the land of John Whytyng . On that day D⟨aventry⟩ produced 4 witnesses: brother Peter de Horpole , Henry de Kibbeworth, chaplain, Walter Selle of D⟨aventry⟩ , and Robert Coke of Preston . Accused produced none. Adjournment till Tuesday after the Sunday on which is sung ‘Misericordia domini’ [13 April], in St. Margaret’s, Leicester, and then to the court-day after 3 May, in All Saints.

Staverton. William, prior, &c., of D⟨aventry⟩ grant to William Long , John his son and Agnes his son’s wife, and William and Alice , children of Agnes, 2 messuages with curtilages in Staverton. Thrupp. Inspeximus and confirmation of the following documents by John, Bishop of Lincoln . 14 March 1311.

• (i) Richard, bishop of Lincoln grants the churches of Scaldeford, Bissebrok, and Southrop to D⟨aventry⟩ (The amount they paid for it is not legible.) Given at Bukkedene, 27 November 1266.
• (ii) Letters of the dean and chapter confirming (1). Given at Lincoln 21 April 1267.
• (iii) Letter of the bishop to the archdeacon of Northampton to give D⟨aventry⟩ corporal possession of the Church. Given at Leicester. 31 March 1286. (The Inspeximus tells us that this was on the death of Robert le Paumer, rector of Throp ). D⟨aventry⟩ instituted as their vicar, John of Daventry, chaplain: it was then found that the tithes were worth (1) of grain 15 marks a year (2) of hay from demesne meadows 8/- (3) of hay from other meadows, (4) of 2 virgates 2 acres pertaining to the Church, with pasture 32/-, (5) All other tithes 3½ marks. The monks are to bear two-thirds of all burdens on the Church, and the vicar one-third.
• (iv) Letters patent of Oliver, bishop of Lincoln to the archdeacon of Northampton to put John of D⟨aventry⟩ in possession. Given at Theyden. 4 May 1286.
• (v) Letters patent of the same (the same date) saying that at the instance of the monks he has written [as in (iv)] to the archdeacon. Given at Storne Park [Lincs.].

Thrupp. John son and heir of Thomas Capes of Thropp by D⟨aventry⟩ grants to John Mylwarde of the same ¾ rent from a messuage and two virgates of land, which John of Braunfeld holds from the grantor in T⟨hrupp⟩ by D⟨aventry⟩ with homages, wards, &c. Given at Norton. Witnesses: Thomas Dysonell , William Clerk , John son of Henry att Watre of Norton , John Herbard , William Herbard of Throp . ⟨15 Sept. 1346.⟩

Welton. Henry le Campion of Weleton grants to Thomas the tailor of the same, and Christiana his wife for money paid beforehand half an acre of arable land in the west field of Weleton at Cockesmedeoverende by the land of William Ace .
