Thomas fitz-Walter lord of D⟨aventry⟩ quit-claims to D⟨aventry⟩ all his right in certain tenements and rents in D⟨aventry⟩ and Drayton. [Mutilated and partly effaced.] ⟨29 Sept. 1366.⟩

William Yonge, vicar of D⟨aventry⟩ , grants to Roger Newenham of D⟨aventry⟩ , ½ acre of arable land in the north field of Drayton, in Ayreslade, the land of Robert Godechep , which W. Y. had by the gift of John Gymelin . Witnesses: John Waundel , John, ... Edmund Porter ... ⟨… after 7 July 1360.⟩

THENFORD, Northamptonshire. Indenture between the abbot and convent of Oseney, and the prior and convent of Coldnorton, concerning two parts of the tithes of the fee which antiently belonged to the church of St. George within the castle, Oxford, within the parish church of Theneford. Dated at Cold Norton, 20 March, 1394. [Mutilated.]

Henry of Lancaster, earl of Derby, confirms to D⟨aventry⟩ all the lands, &c., which Thomas fitz-Walter of D⟨aventry⟩ gave them. Given at Kenilworth. 11 Oct. ⟨1338.⟩

Daventry, The Mills. Peter, prior, &c.; of D⟨aventry⟩ grant to John son of Roger Miller of D⟨aventry⟩ for his service, 2 acres of arable land in D⟨aventry⟩ and Drayton viz. in the south field of D⟨aventry⟩ 3 half acres lying at le Loch by the land of Simon de aula . In the south field of Drayton a half acre over Putforlong between the monks’ land and that of William of Drayton . Rent 2d. For this grant John gave the prior; &c., an acre of arable land ‘cum divisa eidem adiacente’ in the south field of Drayton over Ryenhul by the land of John Neel , on which acre Ryenhulmylne was situated, which acre and mill Roger, father of the said John, used to hold from the monks. Witnesses: John fitz-Philip of D⟨aventry⟩ , William of Draytone of the same, Symon de aula of the same, Robert Gemme of Drayton , Robert le Werrour of the same, Geoffrey Gamel of the same. Thomas Fitz-Waut’, kt., lord of D⟨aventry⟩ , quit-claims to William, prior of D⟨aventry⟩ , &c., all his right in the tenements late of Nicholas Herberd , and Richard Newbolde , in le Netherhende and in the tenement late of William Ruynysch which messuage John Wyluby now holds in D⟨aventry⟩ . John Neel of D⟨aventry⟩ gives to Robert Symond of D⟨aventry⟩ and Henry his son 9½ acres of arable land in Drayton, viz. in the Southern field 5 roods together over Mawelonde by the land of Geoffrey le Porter ; 5 roods lying together over Westbrocforlong by the land of Geoffrey Gamel ; ½ acre over Northlongforlong by the land late of Lucas de Baddeby : In the North field 5 roods lying together over Waltforlong by the land of the lord which John son of Ralph once held in villeinage; 5 roods lying together in the same shot by the land of Helewise super Montem; 5 roods lying together over Tunstale by the land of Simon de Potkote ; 5 roods ‘into’ Oldegore by the land of Optrhop; ½ acre abutting on Gosecroft by the land of Symon of Potkote; 1 acre abutting on Gosecroft by the land of Symon son of Sir John of Daventry on the one part and the land late of Henry Carpenter of Drayton on the other. William son of Sir John of D⟨aventry⟩ , kt. , grants to Henry son of Robert Symond of D⟨aventry⟩ 1 acre of arable land in Drayton viz., in the North field half an acre over Langedone by the land of William Gymme , and in the South field half an acre under Stepenhul by the land of the said William. Drayton. Thomas de Falwesle grants to D⟨aventry⟩ in free alms ½ acre of land in the west field of Drayton by D⟨aventry⟩ , over Mixeneforlong between the monks’ land and that of Geoffrey le Porter . Norton. Matilda , relict of W⟨illiam⟩ B⟨igge⟩ of N⟨orton⟩ , quit-claims to D⟨aventry⟩ her right in the same. On that day D⟨aventry⟩ produced 4 witnesses: brother Peter de Horpole , Henry de Kibbeworth, chaplain, Walter Selle of D⟨aventry⟩ , and Robert Coke of Preston . Accused produced none. Adjournment till Tuesday after the Sunday on which is sung ‘Misericordia domini’ [13 April], in St. Margaret’s, Leicester, and then to the court-day after 3 May, in All Saints.
