HORSHAM. Lambert, son of Walter, son of Christiana de Uckefeud , grants to William de la Denne , for his service &c. and 10 marks sterling, the whole of his land called 'La Hulle' in Horsham, which Simon Terry gave to his mother Lucy . (c. 1270-80.)

William de Brawse grants to John de la Denne , for his fealty and 100s., the whole of the land called which Richard de le Denne , his father, held in the parish of Horsham, and also the land which Alwin de Wolegete held, paying annually 8s. 2d. (c. 1260.)

Alice, formerly wife of John de Crochurst , grants to William atte Denne of Horsham two fields of land lying in the parish of Horsham, which came to her on the death of her husband, called Northrud and Stoneyehaghe; for her life at an annual rent of 3s.. Dated at Horsham on the vigil of St. Margaret, 11 Ed. ⟨I⟩ .

Richard, son of John de la Denne , grants to William de la Denne his brother for 20s., 3s. of annual rent in the parish of Horsham. (c. 1280.) .

Alice, wife of John de Crochurst of the parish of Horsham , remits and quit-claims to Nicholas ate Rideforde all her right as dowry in lands and tenements in Horsham, which the said Nicholas had from her late husband. Dated at Horsham the Sunday on the morrow of St. Barnabas, 23 Ed. I.

SELEHAM. Philip de Seleham, son and heir of Ralph de Seleham , grants to the hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, in frankalmoigne, a messuage, garden, and the mill of Seleham, with the water, fishery, and two islands called Torres, together with another messuage, tenement, and certain other lands in Seleham and Howike &c., and rights of common. [c. 1200-20] [Mutilated.] .

HAILSHAM. Mutilated deed, dated ... after St Augustine of England, 1282, of proceedings at the cathedral church of Rochester in a suit between the prior and convent of Michelham and Eustace .... concerning the chapel or church of Haylesham. [Fragment.] .

PINKHURST, &c. Simon de la Hulle of Pinkhurst demises and quit-claims to Geoffrey his brother for 40s. the whole of his right and heirship of the land of 'La hale', of the land of Pinkhurst, of the land of la Telthete, of the land of Grelingefolde, and of the mill of La Hyde, and whatsoever shall fall to him by from the inheritance of his father William and his mother Ediwa . c. 1240-1250.) .

ROBERT'S BRIDGE (Abbey of). Fragment of examinations of certain witnesses in a cause of tithes between the prior and convent of Ledes (?) and the abbey and convent of Robert's Bridge, of the lands and value of this abbey in Lambrehurst. Endorsed: 'contra abbatem de Ponte Roberti'. [c. 1260-70?] .

RUSPER. William Chich grants to Adam le Banant and Alice his wife one part of his land with a house in the parish of Ruespere, paying annually 12d. (c. 1270-80) .

SLINFOLD, &c. Richard de Climpesfaude and Alice his wife grant to John their son two acres of meadow in the parish of Slindefaude in the meadow called 'Norzlondes med', formerly belonging to Walter de le Strode , saving to Mabilia, who was the wife of Walter Kerdolong, for her life; with remainder to Alice sister of the said John. (c. 1260-70.) .

Richard Climpesfaude grants to John his son the whole of his messuage and garden in the parish of Slindefaude, which he bought of Helewise, the widow of Ralph le Rus . (c. 1270-80.)

Richard de la Strode, son and heir of Thomas de la Strode , remits and quit-claims to Oliver de Esseby all right in a piece of land and the mill of La Hyde, about which they had had a dispute, for 14s. 4d.. (c. 1240-50.)

Robert de Clympesfolde de Slyndefaude grants to John de Clympesfold his brother the whole of a field which is called 'La Hyde' in the parish of Slyndefaude. (c. 1280-90.) .

Walter de Penge , son of Walter le Marechal , grants to Oliver de Eslee for the sum of 40s. the half of a mill in the parish of Sclindefaud, viz. at 'La Hyde' at an annual rent of 10s. (c. 1270.)

William de la Stroude grants to Joan, daughter of Richard de Climpesfolde , the whole of his land called 'Strodlond' and Roulonde in the parish of Slindefaude, and 5s. annual rent in Wornham, and the field called Hyeluescroft, and i6d. rent and a meadow called New Bridge in Wornham. (c. 1270-80.)

Richard de Clympesfaude grants to John his son two acres of meadow in the parish of Slyndefaude in the meadow called Northlondesmed. (c. 1270-80.) [Apparently a regrant of Ch. 175 after the death of Alice and Mabilia; the witnesses are the same.] .

Richard, called 'Le Page,' of Slyndefaud , grants to Roger his brother three acres of arable land with buildings thereon in Slyndefaud, paying annually 12d. (c. 1270-80.) .

STEYNING. Robert le Proo grants to Robert de Effingetun, merchant, and Agnes his wife, for their service and 26s., the whole of his land which is called 'la Dene' which lies on the north part of the land of Alice Shereschinges , and on the south of the king's way which leads from Steninges towards Polebererer(?). (c. 1240-50.)

WALDRON. Roger de Bulesham grants to Robert de Blachinton, clerk, the whole land of Dunnele and the whole of the wood of Rokingeherst in Walderne which tenements William de Crotteberghe formerly bought of John Chynne and afterward Thomas son and heir of the said William gave to the grantor. (c. 1270-80.)

WARNHAM, &c. Richard le Crockere grants to Oliver de Essely for 16s. one part of his land in the parish of Wernham, paying yearly half a pound of cummin. (c. 1240-50.) .

Sir John de Polyngefaude, kt., grants to Henry de la Felde and Joan his wife and their heirs, for 100s., 6s. 8d. annual rent which William de Asshelye annually paid for a watermill in Wernham and Slyndefolde, ... a rent of half a pound of cummin paid by the said William for a tenement at la Hidmulle, which the grantor had from Richard la Porter . (c. 1280-90.)

Richard le Crockere grants to Oliver de Assely , for 16s. all his right and claim to half a pound of cummin which the said Oliver was accustomed to pay him for land in Wernham. (c. 1260-70.)
