Robert le Gay grants to the abbot and convent of Oseney certain land, &c. of his fee in Hampton Gay. With 4/ of rent paid by Philip de Gay . Dated on the back, 3 Hen. III ("anno III regni regis H. fili regis .."). [Mutilated.] .

Geoffrey le Brocher of Blechesdon grants to ... Dodeford, one acre of meadow in the common meadow of Hanton Gay. [Mutilated.] (c. 1230-40.) .

Grant from Robert de Gay , in frankalmoigne, to the abbot and convent of Oseney ... and half a pound of cummin which was accustomed to be paid to him, for ... Hanton Gay of the fee of Thomas de St. Walerie , and also ... pound of cummin for one virgate which Henry le B... [Fragment.] (c. 1220-30.) .

Robert de Gay grants to the church and canons of Oseney, in frankalmoigne, 14 acres of land in Gaythamthune, viz. 6 acres at Dunhurst, which commence near the land of Richard Despencer , towards the land of Henry Brochere , and six acres at Goldhulle near the land of the aforesaid canons, and 2 acres at Underefurlung (?)... and one acre in Hememed, near the meadow of the aforesaid canons, and a meadow of 9 acres next to the meadow of the nuns of Gidestowe. (c. 1220-30.) .

Adam le Grant of Hamtone grants to John le Justur of Wikes for his homage and service, and for 60s. sterling in hand paid, a messuage and a curtilage next to the house of Robert Clavik with seven acres of land in the tenement of Hampton. [Mutilated.] (c. 1230-40.) .

Hampnett, Glouc. Certificate from the Dean of Cirencester to the sacrist of St. Guthlac at Hereford (a sub-delegate) that William rector to the church of Hamptone , and has been suspended for contumacy, to summonded to appear at Hereford on the vigil of St. Peter in Cath. (c. 1230 (?).)

HOOKNORTON. Philip Scot , son of Ralph Scot , confirms the donation which Philip, son of Hugh frank ('franci') , gave with Juliana his daughter in free marriage, viz. a house and curtilage in Hokenorton to Edith daughter of Ralph Camberi , paying annually two capons. (c. 1200-10.) .

Robert L..., with the assent of Felicia his wife, and on account of their great necessity, grants to Adam, son of Seberen , for his homage and service, one messuage in Hokenorton, viz. that messuage which Adam Spilems... (?) held; also two acres of land in the east field, of which one half acre is against Ludewell, another against 'Hochulldich' near Thomas Winnegod , a third against 'Theroberevers (?) lake' near Thomas Winnegod , a fourth near Wlneswel near Thomas Winnegod 's gore above Stamwelle hull near Thomas Winnegod 's. In another field towards the south another 2 acres (with boundaries named), and half an acre in the meadow of 'Heiweies furlong,' paying annually 2s. For this donation the said Adam paid to Robert 30s. 6d., to Felicia his wife 3s., and to Geoffrey his son 2s., and to William, his son, 3d.(?), Nicholas 10d., and to Adam, and John, his sons, 6d. each. (c. 1230 (?).) .

William Basset of Adestok grants to John Walter of Temple Sibford , the whole of the messuage with the close adjacent, lying near that which was formerly John de Fulwell 's, in Hokenorton, and 8 1/2 acres and one ridge of arable land in the same village. (c. 1290-1300.) [Mutilated, partially illegible.] .

IBSTONE. A mutilated decree concerning an annual pension issuing out of the church of Ibstone, withheld from the abbot and convent of Oseney, by John, rector of Ibstone , but ordered to the be paid. Dated at London, 2 Kl. Aug., ... [Ed. I].

KENCOT. Depositions of the abbot and convent of Oseney in a tithe cause between them and sir William, rector of Kencote , concerning two parts of the tithe of corn arising from the whole of the demesne of sir Roger de Heyli, kt., in Kencote. (c. 1210-20.) .

KIDLINGTON and HOOKNORTON. Henry de Oylly grants to the church and canons of St. Mary, Oseney, for the health of his soul and the souls of his predecessors and successors, especially for the soul of Sibil his wife and Matilda his daughter, 100s., of annual rent, for which he has assigned to them 60s., which he was accustomed to receive annually from his mill of Cudelington, and the homage and service of Elyas the miller and his heirs; also he gives to them in his same manor, in frankalmoigne, one virgate of land, namely, that which Ralph Riveling held, with a messuage and croft and with all that appertains to it within and without the village; also he gives to the said canons in his manor of Hokenorton one mark of silver, which Robert Bernard was accustomed to pay annually for three virgates of land in the same village; also he gives to them 8s. sterling, which Roger Olycrance was accustomed annually to pay to him for half a hide of land, which he had with Matilda his wife, daughter of Philip the clerk , and held of the said Henry in the same manor with the homages and services of the said Robert Bernard and Roger Olycrance and their heirs; also he gives to the same canons in his manor of Hokenorton, one meadow which is called Cuham, in frankalmoigne. William, son of Elyas, formerly the miller of Cudlinton , grants to the church and canons of Oseney, in frankalmoigne, a fishery in Charewelle with appurtenances. (c. 1240-50.) .

Alice, relict of William, son of Elyas, formerly the miller of Cudelintone , quit-claims to Oseney her right in the lands and tenements in the village of Cudelinton which the said William her husband had there. (c. 1250-60.) .

KIDLINGTON, SWERFORD, and SENEWELL. W[alter de Gray], archbishop of York , master R[anulf] de Warham, official of Norwich , and master R., archdeacon of Gypewic , executors of the will of John de Gray, bishop of Norwich , assign to the church and canons of St. Mary of Oseney, a certain wood which is called Coggeswode pertaining to the village of Kedelinton, and the church of Swereford with the chapel of Senwell, left to Oseney by the said bishop in his last will who had them by the gift of sir Henry de Oylly . LEDHALE. Convention made between Stephen de Ledhale and Richard his eldest son of the one part, and sir Richard, the abbot, and convent of Oseney of the other, viz. that they have delivered to the same canons for a term of 8 years, which commenced on the vigil of the Ascension, 1226, the whole of their land of Ledhale with appurtenances, except their court and garden, to cultivate for half of the profit ('Wannag') of the same land each year to be taken by the said Stephen and his heirs. And they will reap and collect their half of the corn in autumn and the canons likewise their half. And the canons shall have 2 parts of the meadow of the said Stephen, and he and his heirs shall have the third part. Dated at Oseney, vigil of the Ascension, 1226.

LUDWELL. Charter reciting an inquisition taken on St. Bartholomew's day, 1257, as to the ancient right of the abbot and convent of Oseney in the parish of Wottone to two parts of the tithes of the demesne lordship of Ludewell of the honour of Wallingford, belonging to the church of St. George in the castle of Oxford, and the rector of Wotton to the third part of the tithes of the same lordship. Dated at Oseney, vigil of St. Giles, 1257.

NORTHBROOK. An agreement by sir John de Cherburch, knt., who had been summoned by the abbot and convent of Oseney, before W. vicar of Cumenora and chapel of St Michael's ref(?), sub-delegates of the ... of Salisbury that his servants should in future gather to his barn the tithe wheat of the lordship of Norbroc according to the ancient custom of the place, to await the coming of the tithing man, and not leave it in the field to the injury of the abbot and convent. (c. 1220-30.)

Philip de Gay , son of Robert de Gay and Matilda de Gay , grants to the church and canons of Oseney all his right and claim in the village of Northbroc, likewise of a rent there, viz., two spurs of the value of 6d. or 6d. annually. (c. 1240.) Witn. Genteschin pauper , etc.

Grant from Robert Foliot , with the consent of William his son, to the church and canons of Oseney, in frankalmoigne, (especially for the soul of Philip de Noville ) the whole of his land with a curtilage which Hawise, wife of Milo , held in Rodolvesham. (c. 1200-10.) Witn. "Absalon cognato meo" etc.

S[imon] and W., abbots of Thame and Bruern, and N[icholas], prior of Eynesham , by authority of a letter of Pope Innocent III, dated the Monday next after the feast of St. Gregory, in the year of our Lord 1216, determine a cause concerning two parts of the tithe of 7 1/2 acres of the lordship of Thomas de St. Walery in Rovelesham between the abbot and canons of Oseney against Ingeram, rector of a moiety of the church of Rovelesham .
